    Bring It Back!!!

    I cant believe this show got cancelled when other hideous shows like King of the Hill got renewed.

    I think Futurama is a far better show than even the Simpsons(how the heck has it survived 20 years when the last 10 have been well below par), I get far more laughs from Futurama.

    Exactly, wikipedia isn't a reliable news source, though in this case the info does back up our more porofessional links (rumoured a new season but has now been confirmed to be movies split into episodes)

    I JUST wrote a review for "Jurasic Bark" and I was sad and said "Since it's already done, I highly suggest that Fry finally decides to clone him in one of the four Futurama movies." and then I read the article on wikipedia that said "The new season will be set two years after the events of the last season, and will re-visit Fry and Leela's relationship and unanswered questions about Nibbler, dark matter and Seymour the dog." And now I'm in a really good mood!

    Would someone care to explain this?(Matt Groening seems to be contradicting the nay sayers here)

    It's not contradicting anything. As the other articles said, the 4 dvd movies are going to be split up and aired as 16 episodes, the episodes having extra material in them and  cut out bits of continuity so they air as separate episodes, and that's what Groening is working on. Besides, he said the same thing in the earlier article (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/news/comments/?entryid=397361
    )

    As much as I want a new season of Futurama, it is not going to happen yet.

    Four direct to dvd movies of Futurama are being made, the first hopefully coming out in Xmas 2007 so we'll at least still have new Futurama.

    In 2008, the movies will air on Comedy Central as sixteen separate episodes. These are not new episodes, just parts 1-4 of each movie.

    "iF: Will there will be any new characters added to FUTURUAMA?

    GROENING: We’ve got a giant alien octopus that mates with every person on earth with its tentacles. And in the first movie, Sarah Silverman plays a cameo and Al Gore. Al Gore is back!"

    I LOVE SARAH SILVERMAN!

    That alien octopus sounds a lot like the Flying Spaghetti Monster who reaches out with his noodly appendages to create/affect life. And no, I'm not talking about a stupid aqua teen character. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster (note, if you are a Christian and easily ofended don't check out the link)

    Yeah. I always wondered whether or not Nibbler was the villian in this whole story...

    I'm not like it when Futurama makes the leap to Comedy Central. I love watching it on CN and they play two episodes a night, gonna miss that.
