From what I've heard, and read, the show will come back with 29 episodes, 16 are obviously from the movies an the other 13 are from the new CC season, and this starts actually on November 27. This, unfortunately, is still a good while away so this can change at any time.

The CC season doesn't start till next year, but the DVD movie releases do start on November 27. I'm not sure when these episode start airing on CC, but it will probably be before the new season.

link'd 4 u. Pretty funny. Fox deserved this animated retaliation from how they treated Futurama, but it seemed a little too Family Guyish.

(wistfully)A man can dream though. A man can dream.

Hopefully they moview and re-cut episodes on CC will do well enough that they'll want more. It would be great if the most intelligently written animated comedy made a come back with new episodes. It would restore my faith in entertainment.

    Echoing....

There are 4 direct to video Futurama movies coming out starting with the first one, Bender's Big Score, which will be released on November 27. The other three, The Beast with a Billion Backs, Bender's Game and Into the Wild Green Yonder are supposed to follow shortly after sometime in 2008 but as far as I know there are no official release dates for those.

The 4 movies will be resequenced into 16 episodes to be aired on Comedy Central starting in 2008. If the movies/reworked episodes do well enough in sales and ratings more new Futurama episodes may be made, but it is unclear who, if anyone, will pay for or air them. Fox still has the option but they may relinquish (sell) it to CC as they never really had any interest in promoting or maintaining Futurama... I guess they have room for only one smart animated comedy (The Simpsons).

There is a recent rumor that Comedy Central has already commsioned 13 follow up episodes but at this point it is just rumor with no confirmation as far as I know.

Futurama returns, but to the big screen sometime this year, with Bender's Big Score. The movie was originally set for a October or November release date but for now is up in the air.

Read the stickied submission guidelines. The movies are not part of the TV show, and belong on Filmspot. The split up episodes will be added to the guide when the episode names/airdates are released. But there will be a discussion thread for each movie when the DVDs are released.

IGN has posted the release date and story of the first movie. Read here:

    http://dvd.ign.com/articles/810/810144p1.html

Judging by the storyline, sounds like they are really taking advantage of the direct-to-DVD freedom.
