  • Bender dies and turns into a ghost

    9.0
I thought that this was a superb episode of "Futurama". Not as good as the first two Season 8 episodes "Neutopia" and "Benderama" but this episode was still enjoyable. I thought it was interesting that Bender turned into a ghost after after he died. No one can see or hear Bender because he is a ghost and he runs into Robot Devil and goes to Robot Hell. Robot Devil told Bender that Bender has to scare Fry to death in order to get his body back and Bender agrees to do it because he is mad at Fry for saying that robot lives aren't as important as human lives. Bender scaring Fry to death was the reason why my score is a little low because Bender is Fry's friend and Bender shouldn't do that to his own friend even if he did say robot lives aren't that important... still it bugged me that Bender did that. Fry was at the hospital after Bender scared him to death and gave him a heart attack but luckily Fry survived the heart attack. I loved that Bender (as a ghost) went to the Amish country with Fry even though he knows that Fry doesn't see him but Bender helping Fry at the Amish country was nice of him and he was also nice when he told the Robot Devil that he would rather be stuck in Robot Hell for eternity than to kill his best friend Fry. I didn't really laugh at this episode but the only part I did laugh at was when Bender went to Robot Heaven towards the end of the episode and told Robot God that he wants to go back to Earth. Overall, despite that one thing that bugged me, this was a superb episode of "Futurama". 9/10moreless

What I liked: the wikipedia reference, the return of the Robot Devil, Bender deciding not to kill Fry, and to spare his life, the Obama Care line (even if it felt weird), the (almost) Ghostbusters reference, "heroes don't do drugs. Except Drug Man", amongst a few other things.

Pretty good episode. I lost interest in the last act, on the Amish planet, but the rest of the episode was pretty good and I enjoyed the rest, so because of all of this my final grade for this episode is a low B-. Good episode but could have been a bit better in places, I felt.moreless

Robot Devil: Aaah! A ghost! Oh, it's you.
Bender: A deal's a deal, so give me my body back!
(Robot Devil checks computer for confirmation)
Robot Devil: Fry's dead you say? Funny, that's not what it says on his Wikipedia page!
      (Bender checks the webpage himself)
Bender: Survived a heart attack? Damn you, Obamacare!

    • (Fry goes to make a call)
Fry: All I know is I've got a ghost that needs busting!
      Hermes: Who you gonna call?
      Fry: Gho...
      (Phone line hangs up)
Phone Operator: The number you have dialed has been lame since 1989.

    • (Hermes is showing the crew a line graph) Hermes: As you can see, since Bender's death, requests to bite one's shiny metal ass are down by 98%. (Scruffy interrupts by using Bender's corpse as a vacuum cleaner) Hermes: Do you mind doing that later? Scruffy: Bite my shiny metal ass!
