To begin with, the parody of the show's name (past-o-rama) is very clever. Furthermore, example of 1990's music (The Hustle) is not too subtle or obvious. Then, as the Seymour story begins, the sadness start up. It is incredibly heart breaking to see a dog waiting for a master who will never return. This has happened at least twice in fairly recent history (the past 150 years). Moreover, it delves more deeply into Bender and Fry's friendship. This episode shows that it is not a one-sided friendship as previously indicated. In conclusion, this episode has both sentimental value for the series, and large amounts of humor.
