  • One of my FAVORITE episodes!

    10
This episode, When Aliens Attack, is one of the greatest and funniest episodes in the show. It was unique and very clever, even more clever than most episodes in the show usually are. It was perfect, introducing the aliens from Omicron Persei 8 for the first time ever, and it was a very memorable (and VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY hilarious, of course) introuduction indeed!

In the twentieth century, Fry accidentally made Fox go off the air. At the time, a show named Single Female Lawyer was airing. One thousand years later, aliens that are very far from Earth are about to watch it, and then they don't get to. The Omicrons invade Earth until they get to see the end, so Fry has the Planet Express crew act out the end, since he saw some of the show.
  • Omicronians

    9.0
Earth is being invaded by a race of aliens called the Omicronians, because they want to see the finale of a 1999 show, called Single Female Lawyer. Fry is the only one who knows about it, because he spilled beer on the Tv transmittor in 1999. The crew recreates the show, with Bender as the cameraman, Fry as the writer, and Leela as the actrees as Single Female Lawyer. But when Fry only writes two pages, they must make it up as they go along.

This was a pretty good episode. I liked Bender using his eyes as the cameras.

    Overall Grade: 85%/B+

the omicronians want a copy of the season finale of an old show, because the satellites went out before it ended, due to fry. this means the planet express crew reenact the final scene and make it up as they go along. but the omicronians do not care, and abandon their plans for destroying earth {over a tv show... go figure}.

a funny episode, and as usual, a very interesting plot. my overall grade for the episode, like several other episodes of the series, is an A+, because it is so funny and I really dug the plot. Yay Futurama
  • Single Female Lawyer!

    9.0
At the beach, Hermes and Bender play hide-and-seek, and Zoidberg does some scuttling. Leela and Fry are in a bit of business when the professional beach bully comes along... but none of this is anything to do with the plot whatsoever. Aliens attack monument beach! They want their Single Female Lawyer back, and the crew eventually decide to shoot their own version of Single Female Lawyer, and they have to improvise! Leela does it wrong, but they sum it up as they make the judge die, and the episode satisfies the aliens, and they don't blow up their planet- but also do not give them the recipe to immortality. Way to overact, Zoidberg.

Fry knocks a beer over back in 1999, spilling over the broadcasting equipment of a Fox affiliate during the showing of 'Single Female Lawyer'. Fry comments 'like anyone on Earth cares', but little did he know that Lore of Omicron Persei 8 was watching 1000 years later. Note that this would make it the year 2999 where Fry should still have been in the cryogenic freezer? Oh well. Anyway, Lore is pretty angry and decides to come to earth demanding Mcneal the single female lawyer, but also this is the name of the current US president. Of course the president assumes that Lore wants him, and refuses to give himself up. Zapp takes all earthicans to war, but they actually end up destroying the Hubble telescope instead of the alien mother ship; the mother ship is much much bigger. On the realisation that they will never win, Zapp shoves the president into a bag and presents him to Lore. Of course this is not the Mcneal they are looking for. Fry figures out who they are after but the episodes of 'Single Female Lawyer' have since been destroyed, so Fry and the gang must produce an acceptable replacement copy.

An excellent example of the hilarious Zapp Brannigan in this episode. The single female lawyer program is a clear poke at the poor quality tv shows which revolve around sex with poor story lines, and a poke at those who watch these programs getting hooked. Although the part they blow up the Hubble telescope thinking it was the mother ship was a bit ridiculous. The apparent telescope was an exact replica of the actual mother ship, not to mention it was shooting at them as well. Although the idea was to highlight the incompetence of Zapp Brannigan, this would have been much funnier if it actually looked more like the Hubble telescope and less like an actual mother ship
  • Aliens invade earth to finish watching an old TV show.

    9.4
This episode has so many parodies I can't keep count. It seems that back in the nineties, Fry delivered some pizza to a Fox studio. While he was taking a quick break (loafing), he accidentally spilled some cola on the control panel and the rest of a show called "Single Female Lawyer" was cut off the air. It is now one thousand plus years later and the rulers of Omicron Persei 8 are watching the show and are extremely upset when it is cut short. The aliens invade Earth and as part of their demand, Earth must broadcast the rest of the show or face destruction.
  • Ally McBeal does have fans, just not on earth

    8.8
As an Ally McBeal fan I was intrigued by this episode. It was a humorous thought to think that light years away TV and Radio signals are picked up and listened to. It would be interesting to find out what other life forms thought about some of the things we produce considering how terrible some of it is. I really enjoyed the final episode they tried to make. And of course, Fry knew how people will react to certain elements of the story when done certain ways. Despite his rediculous direction they manage to save the earth. Lurr's review of the episode was very funny. Who knew that watch television would one day enable you to save the world. A good thing to keep in mind for the future.
  • Good episode, but not as strong as the rest of the series...

    8.3
While delivering a pizza to a TV station back in 1999, Fry knocks FOX off the air while showing the season finale of "Single Female Lawyer". This upsets the aliens of Omicron Persei 8, a planet that is 1000 light years away and is just receiving the broadcast in the year 3000. Meanwhile, it's Labor Day and the crew decides to go to Monument Beach. Everything seems well, until the Omicronians arrive on Earth and start destroying the monuments. Volunteers are called under the orders of Zapp Brannigan to battle the aliens, but fail in destroying the mother-ship. Lrrr threatens to destroy the Earth unless he sees McNeal. President McNeal is delivered to him, but Lrrr says that is the wrong McNeal and takes out a picture of Jenny McNeal. Luckily, Fry recognizes her from the TV show and the crew has to improvise and act out the series finale.
  • Aliens Attack.... They Came, They Saw, They killed , they left...

    8.9
I truly love this episode, it's brilliant, hilarious and has a great plot. Not to mention a huge sci-fi subplot, this is what I love Futurama for, it's sci-fi action and hilarity, all the shots pulled from Star Wars were reconignizible from a glance and the Star Trek ones weren't hard to pick out either, I really love that section.

The jokes were good, two, espicially the whole beach trip thing, I laughed my *** off all the way through that and I'm sure I broke a laughter gleam.

This is a really good episode over all and is in my top ten for sure!
  • In 1999 Fry knocks over a beer, cutting off a Fox broadcast of a program called 'single female lawyer'. Lore of Omicron Persei 8 was watching, gets ticked off, and comes to earth demanding closure.

  • Aliens threaten to attack Earth if their demands are not met.

    9.3
The hostile aliens of Omicron Persei 8 arrive at Earth destroying monuments and demanding that they be given McNeal. Everybody assumes they want the President of Earth but it is not he who they are after.

The aliens have been watching a television show 'Single Female Lawyer' starring Jenny McNeal which has taken 1000 years to reach their planet and the program was knocked off the air by Fry spilling beer on a console while making a pizza delivery to the TV studio.

Unable to come up with the episode they are after, the crew are forced to write their own script for the aliens or face certain destruction by their hands.
  • It was nice, filled with extreme spoofs and wonderful omicron action.

    8.9
The entire episode was a spoof of Ally McBeal. But I just wanted to point out a problem with the whole timeline. The problem with that is from that spot it only could have been around 1999 when Fry knocked the transmission out, and Omicron being "around 1000 light years away" (Prof. Farnsworth) that means if it was below or right at 1000 light years..the transmission would have made it around 2999....before fry was unfrozen. That means they would have set out before Fry was unfrozen, but also their late arrival could be due to the slow travel of Omicron ships, but strangely how did they make it to earth in like 24 hours on the one episode where Fry gets his nose taken due to it being a "human horn". This compells me. Another point if the Omicrons have the secret to immortality, why do they have a planet with billions of children?? Possibly a method of invasion where one population out stands another on a planet and eventually causes the other to become extinct. Overall this was another funny episode where Fry somehow saves the planet, even though we all know he banged his grandma, and is dumber than a bag of rocks. :P
  • Cool episode!

    9.2
This episode was really cool and it make me laughed a lot. Back in 1999 Fry damages FOX but no one seems to care there, but as a planet is a thousand years later from there they are just receving the signal and that causes them to get angry and try to kill them out, unless they get the program back, later the group decides to make their own season finale in order for the aliens to stop killing humanity. It was such a really cool episode, and well I thought that there were pretty good quotes in this episode!
  • Introduction of Lrrr and Ndnd

    10
This episode shows just how much television can affect everyday life in the future: fry destroys the ending of single female lawyer causing the omicronians, 1000 light years away and 1000 years later, to be so outraged that they attack Earth. If not for Fry watching TV nonstop, Earth would not have been saved. Great morals in this episode, aren't there? The recreation of single female lawyer was terrific as was farnsworth's revelation of the second coming of Jesus and the spray bra that Amy uses was a great scene too. Bender's third camera is best left to the imagination and the ending is perfect. So much for Fry's theory that when an episode finishes, it goes right back to being normal.
  • Very very good!

    9.8
This is an impressive episode where Fry's laziness and watching TV all day long comes in very handy as he saves the day when aliens attack.

Its another Zapp Branigan episode where he leads yet another army to certain suicide. Any episode with Zapp is usually a good one.

The "single female lawyer" show looks to be a very entertaining one and the reacreation by the crew was just as good. Obviously the aliens were pretty stupid by not seeing through it, but they had the best lines like standing around the water cooler to talk after the show!
  • Not bad.

    9.6
Plot: Fry knocked FOX off the air in 1999, while Single Female Lawyer was playing. The Omnicrons, who are 1000 light years away and are just seeing the show in the year 3000, are outraged that they can't see the rest of Single Female Lawyer.

Meanwhile, the Planet Express crew goes to Monument Beach for Labor Day. The Omnicrons attack and destroy the monuments a little while later.

Zapp Brannigan calls in volunteers to battle the Omnicrons, but they fail to defeat the Mother Ship. Lrr threatens to destroy the Earth unless they can see the rest of Single Female Lawyer, but most tapes have been destroyed, and the Planet Express crew must act out the season finale of Single Female Lawyer.

This was one of the best episodes I have seen. I'll list some of the things I liked:

    1. This quote:

Zapp : Good work everyone. The Mother Ship is destroyed. (Mother Ship emerges from space.) What the he11 is that thing?

Kif: It appears to be the Mother Ship.

Zapp : Then what did we just blow up?

Kif: (checks radar) The Hubble Telescope.

    2. The Omnicrons destroying all of the monuments, and Fry doesn't react. They destroy Fry's sand castle, making him scream "NOOO!"

    3. Bender acting patriotic after Zapp activates the patriotism circuits in every robot.

This was another superb episode. Great plot and humor. We learn something else about Bender: He's a conscientious objector. You know, a coward. I liked it. Well, I'm done.

    9.6/10.

  • The Single Female Lawyer Episode... (My favourite!)

    10
My favourite episode, and therefore the best episode of Futurama, in the world, ever! That is a great achievement as all of the episodes are completely brilliant. My favourite moment from the episode is Fry saying 'Way To Overact Zoidberg' ! Also Fry in the spaceship doing his space fighting bit is really funny!
