It's came down to the final round and personally I'm not sure how else this series could of ended but this is one of my favorate episodes of the series as well as favorate final episodes of TV.
There really isn't much to say, but I'll admit knowing that the core of Devil Gundam is Rain was a really cruel twist, because you know that possibly the only way to destroy Devil Gundam is to kill Rain, and if he doesn't the earth and all the other colinies will perish so someone must die, it really gave me a cold feeling as we see Domon is faced with the classic utilitarism physophical dilema. I actually knew the answer to what Domon must do even before it was presented. This is where Domon finally learns that this is one conflict he can't solve with his fists for once but with his heart. In a strange way there is sort of a fairy tale like motif going on, the Devil Gundam is sort of the dragon, Rain is the princess, Domon is the knight to rescue her, and the truth of his feelings for her are the magic spell to free her. I really loved that moment in the episode when Domon then confesses his feelings to Rain it was just a beautiful monalog because Domon was opening up to her. And when Domon said my favorate quote which freed Rain I couldn't help but cheer.
Both are now beyond friends their lovers and for now on both will fight together. It's the old message of love conquering all, and it's still a good message because alone you can do much but paired of you can acomlish so much more as long as you believe in each other and the feelings you carry for one another.
And in the end Domon and Rain triumph, and the ending I'll admit I thought was very satisfying I really don't know any other way it could of ended, it had everything I wanted. And as we see in the final shots everyone is going back home but not alone because all the other character have a significant other their rightfully paired off with to go back home to but most of all Domon and Rain whom now ride off like everyone else to the bright hopeful future together.moreless

Though the Grand Master Gundam is resurrected and almost gains control of Earth He is defeated again. With Domon telling Rain that he loves her she breaks free of the Dark Gundam and together they defeat the Dark Gundam.
