Episode Recap

The Imperius Leader of the Cylons has grown impatient waiting for the Galactica fleet to lead them to Earth, so it orders that a group of Cylon fighters attack the fleet and destroy their agroships.

The Galactica detects a Cylon force coming in for the attack and launches Vipers to defend. The Vipers try to fend off the Cylon fighters who ignore them and focus their attack on the agroships. They fire on the agroships and manage to destroy two of them.

Adama consults with Doctor Zee about their loss. Doctor Zee explains that the Cylons purposely destroyed the agroships to force their hand and head for Earth. They decide that it is time to go to Earth and establish a colony to grow crops.

A Viper captain tells Adama that D-squadron is ruining his ships. Adama and Boomer explain that the pilots of D-squadron are endangering themselves by flying towards the Cylons as a decoy, so that Troy and Dillon can safely get to Earth with being followed.

Dillon and Troy land on Earth and cloak their ships. They get to a farm where they pass a scarecrow.

A Latino family stresses over losing their farm after dinner. The father, Hector, tries to keep it from the children but his wife tells him that they already know. Dillon and Troy approach them and tell him that they saw his ad looking to sell half-interest in his farm. They say that they want to grow some crops and would like to help.

Hector tells Dillon and Troy about his situation over lunch. He explains that John Steadman, who is on the board of the Grower's Association, has dammed the creek on his land to enact a water quota to local farmers. He explains that because of that and recent droughts, he does not have enough water to keep his farm going. The guys decide to go see Steadman, but are warned that John does not tolerate trespassers.

Hector takes the guys to Steadman's dam. He explains that Steadman is the man in charge and there is no point to appealing to the Grower's Association. He goes on to say that because they used to work for Steadman and are Latino, Steadman thinks of them as peasants and has no respect for them, and will not help them. Steadman arrives and warns them about trespassing. He says that he is upset that Hector sold his farm without giving him a chance to buy, but will be glad to see him leave. Hector tells him that he is not leaving, then introduces his new partners Troy and Dillon. Troy says that he is interested in the dam but Steadman laughs and tells him that it's his property. He explains that the quota system is proportionate and everyone in the area gets their fair share. Troy does not agree, which angers John who then asks them to leave.

Troy and Dillon help Hector to load the seed they have purchased onto his truck. Hector tells them that some of the seeds that they bought will not grow here because his land does not have the nutrients to make some of them grow. Troy reassures him that they have a "special treatment" that will make everything work out, and not to worry. A couple of Steadman's men eye them suspiciously.

Hector, his son, and the guys are driving back to the farm when Steadman's men drive up beside them, they toss a cigar into the pile of seeds in the back and taunt them verbally, then drive off. Troy notices a burning smell and they see the fire in the back. They pull over and toss out all the seed to put out the fire. Dillon finds the cigar. Troy asks why those men ruined their seed. Hector explains that people like Steadman think they are better than Hector's kind because they are Latino. He tells his son that he was right in telling him to be proud of who he is and tells them about some of the things that Latinos have done. Hector says that to Steadman and his kind, Latinos will never be equal. Dillon and Troy get upset. Troy decides to have Steadman reimburse them for their loss but Hector doubts the likelihood of that happening, that Troy doesn't know who Steadman is. Troy says that Steadman is the one who doesn't know who he is dealing with.

Steadman forces one of his men to ride a wild, unbroken horse. The man tries but falls off. The guys drive up and tell Steadman that they want him to make up for the loss they incurred because of his employee. Steadman is very accommodating and agrees. He tells them about an offer he has. He says that he has a wild horse named Satan, and anyone who can ride him can have him plus $1,000. While the guys think it over, Steadman tells them that Hector does not have a horse so this could be a good acquisition. They agree to try. Dillon scan the horse and finds that he is disturbed, possibly from mistreatment. He uses his arm device to emit some alpha waves to settle him down. Dillon then gets on the horse and rides him around the ranch. Steadman is furious. Dillon rides up and tells Steadman to deliver the horse and $1,000 to Hector's ranch. Steadman is mad but again he agrees.

Hector's daughter grooms Satan with Dillon. She asks if he has a girlfriend, says that he is cute and runs off. Steadman's men drive up and toss the heavy bags of seed to Troy. They are surprised to see Troy handling two bags effortlessly where they both together can barely hold one. They tease Hector's children about the horse and tell them that Steadman will be cutting off their water altogether. Troy gets a message from Adama.

Adama tells Troy that he must grow the replacement food, and that establishing a colony is a lower priority. Troy says that they have the seed but need water. Doctor Zee tells him that he will provide the water once the seeds are planted, but they must finish that by tonight. Dillon comes over and Troy tells him that they are running out of time.

Hector worries that he cannot get any workers. Nobody in the valley will help him out of fear of Steadman. He says that even with help, it would take a couple of weeks to sow the ground. Dillon tells him not to worry because they will get help.

Jamie arrives with the scouts. They tell Hector that the kids are in an agriculture club and are stronger than they look. They reassure him that they can help.

Commander Adama has rounded up their best agricultural experts. He and Doctor Zee watch as they board the new ship, in farm clothing. They will be sent down to the farm to prepare the colony's crops. Doctor Zee and Adama explain to each other how they will produce rain with the ship by flying down.

That night, Dillon and Troy fire their weapons to make holes in the ground. The scouts sing as they jump around the field to drop the seeds into the holes. Steadman shows up and watches the whole scene from a distance.

The advanced ship comes down with Zee and Adama at the helm. The clouds have been seeded and as they descend, they cause the clouds to rain. Zee explains that he has included special nutrients in the rain to accelerate the growth of the crops. Hector's son watches the ship land over the ridge.

The plants germinate and grow rapidly. By the next day, they are fully grown.

John Steadman holds a Grower's Association meeting. He tells them that they are all in trouble because Hector Alonzo had alien beings on his farm last night. They just laugh at him.

The scouts are already harvesting crops to Hector and his family's amazement. Steadman arrives at the farm with the sheriff and another Grower's Association board member. He accuses Hector of harboring illegal aliens and tells the sheriff to arrest them. Jamie shows her identification and takes notes for the news. She tricks Steadman into describing what he saw, so nobody believes him. Jamie tricks Steadman into sounding crazy so the sheriff and the board member get upset with him for wasting their time. They laugh at him and leave.

The Grower's Association votes to remove the water restrictions and allow anyone access to as much as they need.

Dillon says his goodbyes to Hector's daughter who has a crush on him. Hector thanks them for helping him. He tells them that he will take care of his people (the agriculture experts coming down).

Troy and Dillon ride away on their cycles to continue their mission but cannot wait to get back to the farm later. They fly off into the sky.
