The Daggits manning the Vipers that run interference for Troy and Dillon are actually Coloniol Warriors. The squadron name is "D" Squadron, nicknamed Daggits.
Imperious Leader: I'm growing impatient waiting for the Galactican fleet to lead us to the last outpost of humanity. Launch a full scale attack on their agricultural ships! We must destroy their food supply... thereby forcing them to lead us to Earth.
Cylon: By your command.
It is mentioned in this episode that, to hide Troy and Dillon's ventures to Earth, the Galactica launches ships manned by Daggits(!) in the direction of the Cylon fleet.
This was the penultimate episode of Galactica 1980 and like the penultimate episode of the original Galactica Take the Celestra it was directed by Daniel Haller and featured Ana Alicia.
The plot is reminiscent of the original BSG episode "The Magnificent Warriors," which features the Cylons destroying two argo ships and requiring Galactica to send a patrol to gather seed on an outlying farm world. There is also a connection with "Greetings From Earth," which features a farm staffed by an android named Hector. Here the farm owner is named Hector.
Wooden flying saucers:
Rogers said, "Don't you take any wooden flying saucers now." This comes from the old phrase "Don't take any wooden nickels", which warns gullible people not to fall for schemes or swindles, and specifically refers to the worthlessness of nickels made of wood, which were passed off as real coins at times in the past.
