My Top 7 From Season 4 of Game of Thrones
ionee24

This season had a lot of good things going on: for some it may be Tyrion's trial, for some the epic battle between Brienne & The Hound, for some the other epic battle to take over The Wall. I decided to choose my own top 7, whether they are intimate, epic, bittersweet, etc., they are all favorite moments, the most unforgettable...

Season four's shortcomings

Why Game of Thrones Isn't a Great Drama – Anymore
First off, let me put this (admittedly, at first look rage-inciting) headline into some context: I love Game of Thrones – both the show and the books (all of which I have read). I think it's got an incredible cast whose breadth is one of kind, it's got a production value which, also, has no equal on TV, it's based on an epic that is as unprecedented in its ability to be both fantasy and political thriller at the same time as it is in the sheer size of its world. This isn't going to be a rant about how, boohoo, the show isn't like the books or whatever. I am, though, going to measure up the show's writing to its source because, for better or worse, it is based on A Song of Ice and Fire and if something in the show falls short ...

A Game of Thrones Season 3 Recap Through Reactions: *GASP* "NOOOOOOO"
If you're reading this, you've likely already read my lunatic reactions from Season 1 and Season 2.

So I won't explain that I recently marathoned Game of Thrones, didn't know any spoilers (miraculously), and that I wrote my reactions to my good friend, who was already a huge fan. Nope, no need to explain ANY of that. So, without further delay, I give you...

Toni Watches Game of Thrones Season 3

Yup - white walkers - still scary.

Papa Lannister is a dick-wad. He just said the only reason he kept Tyrian around is because he had no way to prove that he wasn't his. Give the guy a complex, why don't ya.

I actually narrowed my eyes at that prick. I LOVE THE IMP, and anyone who is mean to him can drown in some Greek yogurt. (It has to be Greek Yogurt because it ...Read more

Game of Thrones: Making Changes
The last episode showed that Game of Thrones is not afraid to make serious changes. Are changes from the books a good or bad thing? A spoiler free analysis.

A Game of Thrones Recap of Season 1 Through Reactions: "Oh Shit, Oh Shit, OH SHIT..."

I started watching Game of Thrones late. Astonishingly, I didn’t know any spoilers, even though I live in a world with the internet. I wrote my reactions to my pal over facebook, because, well, that’s what we do.

In celebration of the season four debut, I give you a slight refresher course of Game of Thrones, through my mad-woman ranting and shocked expletives.

Season 2 & 3 shall be in different posts, coming soon.

Here we go!

Starting Game of Thrones....

Bah! Monsters are scary!

The opening credits are cool, but they're crazy long. Who okayed this?? I have to pee and the show hasn't even started.

I'm uncomfortable. There's a lot of weird incestual sexual energy going on. The blonde guy just felt up his naked sister. What's that about?

I'm also confused by who's a Stark and who's not ...Read more

Game of Thrones S04E05 "First of His Name" in Bullet Points
In which new alliances are forged, and bad people get stuck with a pointy end.

  • Another great episode with all the undercurrents of manipulation, monstrosity and unexpected honesty I have been savouring since last week like a fine Dornish wine.
  • Is it just me or did the Sept crowd seem much more cheerful and jolly than usual? It's as if all of Kings' Landing is exhaling a deep breath of relief: "our new king is not a sadistic psychopath! Yay!"
  • Hi Jaime. Bye Jaime. *Waves*

  • Beautifully crafted conversation between Margeary and Cersei. Cersei admitting to someone outside the Lannister clan that she knew her son was a monster was huge gift to Margeary. Therefore I was a bit disappointed Margeary played the “I haven't given any thought to it” card, when Cersei asked her if she still wanted to be queen. I thought not only the line spoiled ...

A Game of Thrones Recap of Season 2 Through Reactions: "Oh My... Oh Dear... Oh EFFFFFF!"
As I mentioned in my Game of Thrones Season 1 "Recap" I marathoned the show quite recently. I wrote my reactions to my chum via Facebook.

In celebration of season four's premier, I have gathered those reactions into this absurd, shocked and quite frankly insane "recap" of Season 2. I give you...

Toni Watches Game of Thrones Season 2

I'm starting Game of Thrones again.

I had to stop because I went to Florida. You can’t really watch Game of Thrones when you’re in a small condo with your entire family. It would be awkward to explain why there’s constantly boobs on your screen.
so now I kinda forget everything

I'm sure I'll remember once I get going. I think I remember the important stuff:
-the king is a dick
-the blonde wife of dead tarzan is awesome
-I love all of Ned ...Read more

Game of Thrones S04E03 "Breaker of Chains" in Bullet Points

SPOILERS. OBVIOUSLY.

  • “Where's his wife?” I'm probably reading WAY too much into this, but having Cersei use this word rather than her first name, like she does later on, felt like Sansa finally received an upgrade in the Game of Thrones pecking order i.e. she's no longer Cersei's "little dove". As the wife of the most cunning man in Westeros, something is bound to have rubbed off. Maybe Cersei senses this on some level.
  • Then again maybe not, as finding yourself on a foggy boat with Littlefinger might not be construed as clever. Did Baelish always spoke like that? His accent sounded different to my French ears. Plus, there is a lustful vibe about him whenever he is near Sansa that is getting increasingly creepy.

  • Who killed Joffrey? Well, back when I knew nothing (Jon Snow) my money was on the Tyrells. But my theory ...

Game of Thrones is an HBO adaptation of American author George R.R. Martin's epic fantasy novel series published by HarperCollins, A Song of Ice and Fire. The show explores a medieval-like fantasy world with its plethora of characters all struggling in the only game that matters--the game of thrones. And in this game you either win or you die, there is no middle ground.
