A Game of Thrones Season 3 Recap Through Reactions: *GASP* "NOOOOOOO"
If you're reading this, you've likely already read my lunatic reactions from Season 1 and Season 2.

So I won't explain that I recently marathoned Game of Thrones, didn't know any spoilers (miraculously), and that I wrote my reactions to my good friend, who was already a huge fan. Nope, no need to explain ANY of that. So, without further delay, I give you...

Toni Watches Game of Thrones Season 3

Yup - white walkers - still scary.

Papa Lannister is a dick-wad. He just said the only reason he kept Tyrian around is because he had no way to prove that he wasn't his. Give the guy a complex, why don't ya.

I actually narrowed my eyes at that prick. I LOVE THE IMP, and anyone who is mean to him can drown in some Greek yogurt. (It has to be Greek Yogurt because it ...Read more

A Game of Thrones Recap of Season 1 Through Reactions: "Oh Shit, Oh Shit, OH SHIT..."

I started watching Game of Thrones late. Astonishingly, I didn’t know any spoilers, even though I live in a world with the internet. I wrote my reactions to my pal over facebook, because, well, that’s what we do.

In celebration of the season four debut, I give you a slight refresher course of Game of Thrones, through my mad-woman ranting and shocked expletives.

Season 2 & 3 shall be in different posts, coming soon.

Here we go!

Starting Game of Thrones....

Bah! Monsters are scary!

The opening credits are cool, but they're crazy long. Who okayed this?? I have to pee and the show hasn't even started.

I'm uncomfortable. There's a lot of weird incestual sexual energy going on. The blonde guy just felt up his naked sister. What's that about?

I'm also confused by who's a Stark and who's not ...Read more

A Game of Thrones Recap of Season 2 Through Reactions: "Oh My... Oh Dear... Oh EFFFFFF!"
As I mentioned in my Game of Thrones Season 1 "Recap" I marathoned the show quite recently. I wrote my reactions to my chum via Facebook.

In celebration of season four's premier, I have gathered those reactions into this absurd, shocked and quite frankly insane "recap" of Season 2. I give you...

Toni Watches Game of Thrones Season 2

I'm starting Game of Thrones again.

I had to stop because I went to Florida. You can’t really watch Game of Thrones when you’re in a small condo with your entire family. It would be awkward to explain why there’s constantly boobs on your screen.
so now I kinda forget everything

I'm sure I'll remember once I get going. I think I remember the important stuff:
-the king is a dick
-the blonde wife of dead tarzan is awesome
-I love all of Ned ...Read more

GoT's Many Shades of Power: Which Do You Prefer?

The Many Shades of Power

One of the most compelling and stunning aspects of Game of Thrones is its vast web of multifaceted characters. But even more fascinating to me are the various definitions of power wielded by this menagerie: might, charm, magic, intrigue, dragons, inspiration, wealth, gods, the list goes on. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses; each, its delusions of grandeur and its assumptions of frailty.

On what brand of "power" would you place your bet? On commanding a War Host, or on knowing a valuable secret? On the edicts of royal office, or on a knife in the dark? Would you want as your ally the experience of age, or the fearless spark of youth? Would you invest in unlimited wealth, or in loyalties that cannot be bought? Would you prefer to wage war with mysterious magics, proven gods, dragonfire... or does the messianic inspiration of ...

On Pins and Needle: Small Victories in Game of Thrones
In fantasy, the good guys are all about the ultimate victory and you can tell who they are because, regardless the odds, they always defeat the enemy. However, Game of Thrones is all about the small victories that real life has taught adults to accept.

Daenerys gets to be a mother, but not for the baby she gave birth to.
Its a theme that resonates with so many men and women that can't have children, as it does for the many that can, but relate to the pain. As young as Daenerys was when she lost her child, she embraced motherhood the only way she could, turning a small victory from total defeat.

Jaime gets to have true love, even if he can't see it.
It's an odd thing to accept from a male character, that he only wishes for someone love him back. Like so many ...Read more

Game of Thrones: "...But Sansa Sucks."
During this fairly dry article, I'll be focusing on another character who, for some reason, has been often topping the 'most hated characters' lists. I'm not an idiot. I don't expect Sansa to be everyone's favorite, she hasn't killed anyone, she doesn't have dragons, she's not excactly 'purely good' character... She's very unlike the more popular characters.

But in all seriousness, whatculture.com site ranked her as the 6th hated character of GoT last year. Just to put things in perspective Sansa was more ”despicable” than The Fucking Mountain, the man who raided the Riverlands on the orders of Tywin Lannister and killed, raped, and burned people alive during this time. But yeah... Little things.

Admittedly the hate has been reducing and this post might be a year too late but I still see ”Sansa sucks/should die/is the reason why ...Read more

The Dyslexic Heart of Jaime Lannister
It hit me somewhere along the comments of On Pins and Needle, that Jaime Lannister's dyslexia manifests itself through his personal relationships, as well as his impairment to read fancy words.

The idea of a character that mixed up the notion of wife & sister growing up sounds as fascinating to me as the idea of a character that mixed up the written words. Jaime seems unique, not only because reading is a priviledge of high borns, but because, even among them, his siblings are privileged, which only points out Jaime's diability as something his House couldn't settle for.

As a child, Jaime was forced to read for hours before he could ride or use a sword. In his own words, he hated his father for it, but obeyed him anyway for he had already mixed up the notion of father & commander in his mind.

Thus Jaime must ...Read more

Game of Thrones is an HBO adaptation of American author George R.R. Martin's epic fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire. The show explores a medieval-like fantasy world with its plethora of characters all struggling in the only game that matters--the game of thrones. And in this game you either win or you die, there is no middle ground.
