Maybe someone can clear this up for me...I'm incredibly confused.

In S02 E09 ("Valar Morghulis"), I thought it was Stannis who climbed the ladder and fought the defenders on battlements, yeah?

In S02 E10 ("Blackwater"), he is back with the witch and she convinces him to fight on. This appears to be in his lets say "war room" - but where is that situated? But how did that happen? Its the same character, yeah?

Hope I'm not being a moron!! If anyone could clarify, I would appreciate it!

OK, on Game of Thrones wiki, i have read

"Following his defeat at the Blackwater, Stannis Baratheon has retreated back to Dragonstone. He rages at Melisandre for not foreseeing his defeat, despite her claims to see the future"

But what I dont get is how, with Lannister troops on the beach and in the castle, Stannis would have been able to retreat anywhere? Am I reading too much into this?

yes thank you. but my question is mainly how, if on the walls and with lannister troops on either side of him, he was able to escape and return to Dragonstone. doesnt seem possible. i wasnt asking his mode of transport between Kings Landing and Dragonstone.

if you've anything worth saying, i'd love to hear it....

They came to King's landing by boat, I assume they left King's landing the same way. There were as many boats as there were survivors by the end of the battle.
