Why doesn't Tywin kill Tyrion? He hates him so...

No spoilers from the books please. But if it's something from the books that is already past in the tv show, that's fine. Thank you

I mean, Tywin obviously doesn't see Tyrion as his son, like he sees Jamie or Cersei. For his eyes he is an abomination and his wife's "killer" and he hates him more than anything. I heard that in the books, Tyrion is not only short but also very ugly or deformed.

Given that, why didn't he just killed him when he was younger, or even now? He's the lord of Casterly Rock and now Hand of the King, so no one could even accuse him of murder. He wouln't even have to do it himself, just order someone to do so...

Is he secretly proud/fond of him?

In westeros people believe that it's the biggest sin to kill kin. They would do that to punish, but not to murder

For me it was the transition of how she looked while Tywin was talking to Tyrion, and then her serious look

...Now we know: its because Tywin was planning to marry him to someone useful all along.

(Good for Tywin, but bad for Tyrion)
