I mean, Tywin obviously doesn't see Tyrion as his son, like he sees Jamie or Cersei. For his eyes he is an abomination and his wife's "killer" and he hates him more than anything. I heard that in the books, Tyrion is not only short but also very ugly or deformed.
Given that, why didn't he just killed him when he was younger, or even now? He's the lord of Casterly Rock and now Hand of the King, so no one could even accuse him of murder. He wouln't even have to do it himself, just order someone to do so...
Is he secretly proud/fond of him?
