  • Great episode.

    Gameshow Marathon,

Tonigh it seems everbody, except for one, face off against each other in a game of Lets make a deal. I have only seen reruns of this and i actually like the plot. It may seem simpl but its not. In the end though Lance wins the game. Really excting.
  • Great show so far!

    7.8
Riki does a nice job and is good at hosting

But love Monty Hall doing the show as he is

The one and only as the original is the original

IMO! But still does an adequate job of hosting. Also fun

To see Gilbert Gotfried being a "model" on the show but

Can't replace Caril Merrill though! LOL!
  • Ricky Lake attempts to fill in the shoes of the great Monty Hall but falls a bit short. The mechanics were there but the feel of the original was not.

    4.0
I\'d like to start out by saying that I did enjoy The Price is Right episode. The pacing of TPIR was butchered a bit but the spirit of the show was more or less in-tact. I wish I could say the same thing about the Let\'s Make a Deal episode.

From the beginning, I realized that this show will never be able to capture the intensity of the original by the way Lanca Bass flippantly risked $5000 to continue to draw checks from the box. These celebrities don\'t have anything on the line. Someone else wins all of their prizes. That just makes the show a pale shadow of what it\'s supposed to be. I thought the game mechanics were reproduced well (minus one glaring omission I\'ll get to in a minute) and I really liked Gilbert Gottfried\'s contributions to the show. It just didn\'t feel like Let\'s Make a Deal.

Ricky Lake did a pitiful job of filling in for Monty Hall. She was entirely to \"cutesy\" as my wife put it. She is also a camera hog. Just look at her making faces while the announcer is telling us about the Altoids mints and you\'ll see what I mean. There\'s no way any self-respecting game show host would try to steal the sponsor\'s camera time. And while it\'s most likely not her fault, she never once went around the audience and offered lots of money for downright absurd items. That was my favorite part of the show. Monty Hall would offer $100 for things like a red thumbtack or a hardboiled egg and someone in the audience would actually have one!

The celebrities did their best but like I pointed out earlier, the thrill just couldn\'t be recaptured since there was no big temptation for the celebrities to keep the lesser prizes. There was also a small matter of cars in Page Davis\' turn at the deal that quite frankly put me off. Keeping the mints? 3 cars? That never happens.

All-in-all, it was a mostly correct reproduction without any of the soul of the original. Maybe if the winners of the pries were pre-determined so we could see their reaction as the celebrity makes deals, this episode would\'ve been better. Then again, CBS would be giving up the opportunity of ripping some of us off to the tune of $1 per text message if they did that.moreless
  • Let's Make A Deal joins the elite field of game shows that has been on all three networks.

    9.0
Let's Make A Deal now joins Password, The Price Is Right, Match Game & (if you count the Mama's Family & 227 episodes of) Family Feud, of appearing on all three networks!

Jay Stewart would turn over his grave after seeing Gilbert Godfried modeling all the ZONKS! on that episode! I liked it better when Jay dressed up as a baby or a kid, even the Jay in a Bathtub ZONK! was one of my favorites.

Lance Bass was the top banana of them all, he belongs in the Banana section on Tattletales! Not a bad idea to have Tattletales if they have Gameshow Marathon 2!moreless
