Show Summary

Kei Kurono is a high school student who lives in a selfish world where people, including himself, doesn’t care about anyone else. One day when he sees a man fall off a subway platform, he decides to just stand and watch. However, when his former classmate, Masaru Kato, helps the man Kei reluctantly aids him. When the train comes, they are stuck and are both killed…. or are they? After being run over by the train, they are suddenly teleported to an enclosed high-rise apartment with others who just recently died. They can’t leave the room and now their lives are controlled by a mysterious black ball – GANTZ. They are forced to participate in a "game" of unparalleled danger and horror. Who will die and who will survive? How many games must they play? Their lives are no longer theirs to control! Gantz (ガンツ) is a manga series created by Hiroya Oku, and later was adopted into an anime. It began airing on Fuji TV on April 12, 2004, and was broken up into two parts. The first season, known as the “First Stage”, was heavily edited on Japanese TV, but the second season (“Second Stage”) remained uncut. The Gantz anime is often criticized for it’s ending and pacing problems. The anime was made while the manga was still in early production, and thus Gonzo had to go at a weird pace, including creating an ending unliked by the fans. The manga, which began publication in October of 2000, is still ongoing. Oku-sensei has broken it up into two parts, First Phase and Second Phase. First Phase - October 2000-July 2006 *The Onion Alien Arc *The Tanaka Alien Arc *The Buddhist Temple Alien Arc *The Shorty Alien Arc *The Kappe Alien Arc *The Ring Alien Arc *The Tae Kojima Alien Arc *The Oni Alien Arc Second Phase - November 2006-Presentmoreless
