The telephone keeps changing color throughout the episode.
Since when did Jon go to night school?
[Garfield's Fantasy as a Pilot] Garfield: Uh oh. I think I have someone on my tail. (Looks at his tail) I was wrong. No one there.
Garfield: The crowd is going wild. (Absolute Silence) Garfield: I said the crowd is going wild. (The Audience cheers for 2 seconds)
Garfield: I haven't eaten for almost 27 (coughs) minutes.
Garfield: Do you read me, Blue Leader? This is Lasagna 1. We have ignition. ...Roger, over and out, and fancy flying talk like that.
Garfield [voice-over]: Pulling up, number 37, Enzio Bidoni, driving his lean, mean, corrugated racing machine.
Jon: I have to study for that test at night school. I'm learning a language that's very difficult for me. Garfield: English.
Title card- Garfield with a box over his head with a cat head draw on it
Garfield, Odie & Jon fantizize, Race Car Driving, Airplane Pilot, Lifeboat in the middle of the sea, Rocket Ship, and fighting for King Arthur.
The scene in the theme song where Garfield pushes Odie out of a box repeatedly is from this episode.
Jon makes a subtle reference to actress Beatrice Arthur during his fantasy. Another such reference will be made later, in the episode Up a Tree.
