Why is Odie never invited when Jon goes on a trip?
If Jon can never bring Garfield, a cat, on a plane, what made him think he could bring him on a ship?
Garfield: I'm not going and that's that. (cut to Jon in his bedroom packing his suitcase) Jon: Of course, all you do on a cruise is eat and sleep. (Garfield zooms in dressed in a sailor's outfit and starts dancing on Jon's suitcase) Garfield: (singing) Anchors aweigh, my boy, anchors aweigh!
Captain : What is that? Is that a cat on my ship? Jon: Garfield is my best friend. Captain: Cats are bad luck. Either you leave that cat behind or you don't board this ship. Garfield: No way. Jon's my pal we are friend to the end. (cut to Jon and shipmates waving to love ones; Garfield on deck) All: Bye. Garfield: Gee, the end. Came sooner than I thought.
Garfield: Let's see. Should I A) find Jon, or B) check out the food first? ...All those who guessed "A", you're not watching the show often enough.
Garfield: Going up. Next floor: notions, lotions, oceans, commotions, and lasagna.
Jon: It's a two-week cruise aboard one of the biggest ships in the world. Garfield: I avoid all ships too big to fit in the bathtub. Jon: We visit twelve foreign ports in fourteen days. Garfield: Good. Plenty of chances for them to lose your luggage. Jon: And we go to eight different countries. Garfield: And learn eight different ways to say, "I am seasick."
Odie does not appear in this episode.
When captain gets back on boat from falling off, Garfield is eating and says, "Uh-Oh Ahab is back." Which is a reference to Moby Dick. In Moby dick, Ahab obssively pursued Moby dick. Written by Herman Melville.
