Yet another well made prediction in the cartoon series regarding the future of technology. Mr. Sprocket tells Jon that now cartoons are all automatically done by computers, so the cartoons are modern and efficient and it saves money, the cartoons aren't any better than man-made (or rather man-drawn) cartoons, but you can't have everything. Such seems to be the case with much of animated children's entertainment today.
(the comptuer digitizes Garfield into a tackier form of himself with a red bowtie) Garfield: This is about as bad as I could possibly look. (the computer digitizes him into a form resembling Bart Simpson) Garfield: I was wrong, this is worse!
This is the second (and last) time Jon's uncle Ed is alluded to.
The TV shows that Garfield are trapped in are spoofs of "Scooby-Doo" and "Josie and the Pussycats".
When Mr. Sprocket is changing Garfield's appearance, Garfield briefly morphs into a likeness of Bart Simpson.
