The gargoyles begin to get used to the new age they find themselves in as Goliath discovers that his mate had survived the destruction at Castle Wyvern by hiding before the sun came up. Xanatos says that she was the reason he sought out the gargoyles' legendary home. She successfully convinces Goliath to consider helping Xanatos in retrieving the disks that were stolen. Despite her warning not to trust humans, he goes to meet Elisa.
The elder gargoyle follows and when Elisa asks his name, she realizes that none of them but Goliath are named. He settles on the name Hudson, like the Hudson River. After he departs, Elisa goes to show Goliath several parts of the city, explaining her role in law enforcement to Goliath, who understands. While in Central Park, they are ambushed by the group of soldiers that had attacked the castle the night before. The two of them evade the soldiers until they are pinned down. The sun rises and Elisa is stunned to see Goliath turn to stone.
