This is sort of the story from the film "Ransom" all over again but it's told Gargoyles style and it works. We see humanity in Zanatos and Fox who have such worried looks on their faces and behavor of powerlessness it's believable and you care. But most of the credit has to be handed down to Lexington we see lots of emotion in his character. He loves Alex like a brother and would go to any lengths to protect him from harm even if it means sacrificing his own life. And we see that when Lex turns himself in and we see a Christ aligory by the time Lex in the public campagn has been shakled in the form of a crucifiction cross and is being stoned by people thowing empty pop cans or any other junk at him.moreless

    • Angela: It's a strange human ritual, this politics. Did Gargoyles ever choose leaders this way?
Goliath: The methods may differ, Angela, but the struggle to earn allegiance is a universal one.

    • Goliath: The human passion for money is an emotion that gargoyles do not understand. When wealth is used toward health and security, we appreciate the value in its fevered creation. But when riches simply adorn or fuel ambition, we see envy, discord, and a temptation to sacrifice all righteousness to achieve them. We see innocent victims, and we grieve.

  • NOTES (1)

    • This episode came from a proposed story from Greg Weisman that would have Alexander's kidnapper being Raven The Trickster. The story itself would have been a multi-trickster story featuring not only Raven, but Anansi, Puck and Coyote.
