this show is very underrated... but thats one of the reasons why i love it!!!!

if lots of people knew about it and just watched it because everyone else did....it wouldnt be so special...what are your views?

    BTW.....
gotta love the bit when he is running away from the explosion and he flips over.... lol

    He has a point
    if it was popular
the show would be gayer than "little britain"
where the stars churned out a third series purely for the cash

Well I suppose I like shows that are underrated, purely because then you don't get so many try-hards faking an interest in the show like you get with family guy. But I wish this show got a bit more credit, because it really is one of the most genius concepts in the history of comedy. Ideally I'd like it to be underrated enough to be considered "cult" but popular enough to have gotten more than 6 episodes commissioned.

Darkplace is just briliant to me and hits on so many levels.

i had two episodes on a VERY use tape and rejoyced to its dvd. note: NONE of my friends like it AT ALL.
i showed two  "hell hath no fury" and got a giggle and a sympatheitic "yeah, that is kinda funny"

i guess i like it more for its niche cult status but hope and PRAY the mainstram audince wont continue to take it "face value" as it were, so maybe we might get a second season?!

dont know how DVD sales went and if that would help...?

As far as I know there is no plans of a second season although a movie is being written.

And all of my friends I have shown it to have loved it!

I really don't mind. If Darkplace was hugely popular I don't think there would be a problem. Most British shows seem to get by without intrusion from the viewers and they certainly don't have to worry as much as their American counterparts.

If Darkplace had been widely recieved, it probably would have been given a second series and I'm certain that it would have been just as good as the first.

That said, the divisions amongst fans over Man to Man with Dean Learner does demonstrate that while we love the guys behind Darkplace, we may not agree on their other efforts.

Besides, I think there are enough underrated series out there for us to love.

I like having my own personal comedy that everybody else thinks is terrible, and it's even better when you find the odd person that enjoys it

I just discovered this in the last few months on youtube and I can't get enough of it! Everytime I sit down to watch one episode I end up watching several in a row. I've watched the whole thing about 3 times now. I'm torn between wanting to keep it to myself and wanting to go out and tell everyone I know to watch it!
