Gary Unmarried returned tonight after a brief hiatus. While the show was filled with laughs, it was also the second CBS comedy within a week to feature an episode revolving around an impromptu trip to Las Vegas (the first being The Big Bang Theory).

I did like the "subliminal" advertising for KFC Grilled Chicken, and I may have to buy some this weekend, but I just wish the episode was a little bit funnier. Everything seemed just a bit too constrained and the Mclovin reference just did not seem to fit in with the show's usual style of humor.

Not terrible, just not one of the better episodes.moreless

Well, this was a typical filler episode. Not too bad to give a trashing or too good to swoon over it. The focus was on Gary finding himself more Allison-like in the presence of his half brother, who happens to be a more irresponsible version of Gary. There weren't any scenes that really stood up. I vaguely recall laughing for the 'now we don't have a broom joke', and 'my cleaning lady divorced my joke'. Even Al Madrigal wasn't funny this time around. The herbs and spices part was too lame, and honestly- I didn't find it funny at all. Probably the writers just ran out of ideas.moreless

This show tonight was dead on funny - really great jokes and Riggle and Mohr and Marshall play off of each other well. CBS would be nuts not to renew this - good cast, good writing, good stuff! Even Max Gail who plays the old hippie dad scored tonight - he had been a bit TOO sedated of late but his chracater was used well in the episode and the jail cell scene was hilarious.moreless
