  • Tremendous episode.

    8.5
    "Great"
I know it feels like verbatim, but Gary Unmarried is just really good right now. Things are connecting on all cylinders and while I said that the show would never reach 30 Rock's elite status, it may be there right now. GU really is that good.

Keegan Michael Key and Brooke D'Orsay are both really funny additions to the cast and the show is just well-acted all around. Not only was I laughing harder than I do with just about any other show, but they were able to have nice, serious Cosby Show moment in the end as well. Anytime a sitcom can pull that off is a true test to a show's quality.

This may be the best episode of TV all week. If you haven't watched it, watch it!moreless
  • Gary gets his own show...

    8.0
    "Great"
I don't think Gary Unmarried would beat the numbers that ABC's comedy Wednesdays produce, but I am sure this is easily a great half hour of comedy on TV. The ratings simply do not justify the quality and consistency of the show.

Keegan-Michael Key has become an amazing replacement for Al Madrigal, and may I say he is actually better than him. Right from the first scene where he is comfortable with black stereotype jokes to making unintended homosexual references, he did great. Rob Riggle is clearly missed here, and I hope they bring him back soon. The kids didn't have much of a show this time, nevertheless their absence didn't hurt things much.moreless
