Two weeks ago I commented on how the cast shakeup in Gary Unmarried was not a positive, but the past few installments have shown that G-Un is one of the better comedies on CBS. Maybe it is just the Newsradio fan in me that likes seeing a sitcom revolve around a radio station, but things just seem a lot fresher and the episodes are really funny and well-written to boot. Keegan Michael Key makes me laugh every week and has really come a long way from being the annoying guy in those car commercials to a strong supporting castmember. Rob Riggle is also great as Uncle Mitch, but wasn't he supposed to be leaving last week?moreless

I somehow felt sorry for Gary in this episode, rather than laughing hard at his one-liners. The comedic value was clearly low here, and if not for a few lines from Allison and Curtis this episode would have sucked big time. The storyline involving Tom and Louise was a little out of track. Tom's was okay and did have a few funny moments. However, Louise's track was out of character. And now that the painting job is done at the radio station, I wonder how long Keagan-Michael Key will be around. I was hoping him to replace Al Madrigal. Anyhow, when compared to ABC's Cougar Town this show is the best alternative I can ever get on Wednesday's comedy block.moreless
