A very graphical episode of Gene and Shannon's facelifts in which Shannon has to stay in the hospital due to the pain. Nick and especially Sophie can't really handle the initial results of their parents makeover.

  • Serious tones - definitely out of character.

    This episode due to the subject had some very serious tones. Gene and Shannon's surgeries and recoveries. Gene did however show some signs of his usual self but for the most part I felt this episode what VERY out of character. Sophie and Nick's reactions were genuine and I think justified. I think this will remind some viewers that it is surgery and a serious one, one that can only come with complications. With Shannon's from what they shared it was not too serious but very easily could have been. Gene concern for both Shannon and the kids reaction was evident. I do have to give kudos to the producers (Gene) for shutting the camera's off to along they some privacy in dealing with the situation. Now we see where they go from here and from the looks of it Shannon comes home next week, which I think will give the kids some relief.moreless
