I'm going to re-post my question about GSFJ and perhaps the new subject line will prompt someone to read/answer. I don't have high hopes for a response though. Here goes:

Can someone please explain to me (or provide a link to the explanation) WTF the lie-detector test (several seasons ago) was for?
The answer at that time: it was to see if Gene was cheating on Shannon.
So here's where they lost me, what is their actual definition of cheating? Because now, Shannon says he's been unfaithful all along, the marriage wont be "open" like their relationship has been, etc. None of it makes sense.
Was he cheating? What's their definition of cheating? Biblical?Did she know all along? Was the lie detector radio show a bunch of crapola?

Thanks to anyone who can clairify this for me and all other confused fans. Undecided

Lie detectors are tricky in terms of reliability. Adam Corolla asked about whether he had slept with the women he had claimed. That was true. As towards the cheating, it really depends on what Gene himself believed. If they asked him if he cheated and to him what he did was not cheating, then it would come up as telling the truth. If they did have an "open" relationship, then to him it was not cheating. That is one of the reasons lie detectors can be unreliable. You can beat it if you believe what you are saying is true.

I have answered your question to the best of my ability in both of your posts. I am closing this topic. I will be monitoring this forum more often from now on to ensure that questions are answered quickly. However, insults to the webpage or its staff are not needed.
