Shannon tries to escape to Aspen for some real R & R, but Sophie talks the rest of the family into heading up their as well. Gene soon learns that Sophie wanted to go up there because of a boy she likes and Gene tries to find out all about him and ends up getting in trouble. Soon he has to be rescues by the mountain's ski patrol.moreless

Despite the doctor's orders to stay home and rest Gene is persuaded by the oh so cute Sophie to follow Shannon out to Aspen. Although meant to be a girls weekend out with her friends, Shannon is happy nonetheless to see the gang in Aspen. Sophie, while using her dad to get to Aspen, quickly ditches him to go snowboarding with a friend and Gene, who can't sit still, forces Nick to go to a spa. However, when made aware that his darling Sophie is snowboarding with a male friend Gene is off to play the overbearing and watchful dad. It is quite funny to see the still puffy faced Gene chase after his daughter but you become quite concerned as you see him get into what could have been a very serious accident.moreless

Shannon goes to Aspen so she can have a girl's nite out but Sophie convinces Gene to go to Aspen as well to have fun.

Ok episode but this seemed setup from the beginning. Shannon goes to Aspen to mess around with her friends. Later Gene goes to see her. Sophie meets a friend there she likes who gives her skiing lessons of sort. Gene gets overprotective and decides to scope out the kid but his cover is blown by Sophie who doesn't like what he did.

One of those standard "My Dad is so overprotective" storylines I've seen in so many sitcoms. We get to see the double standard Gene has for his son who lets him do anything and yet not the do the same for his daughter.

I found the episode to be average and aside from that really nasty slide Gene had the rest of the episode wasn't nothing to write home about.moreless

OK - for a man as intelligent as Gene, he can REALLY do some stupid things. GIVE A BREAK - Gene is smarter than this, he just had surgery. Last week was bad enough Gene working from home and taking meetings. Now after just having a meeting with his surgeon, which included being scolded for not resting and here we find him on skis just to keep an eye on Sophie. I don't even want to discuss him how he got to Aspen to begin with. If he keeps it up the results from his surgery & facelift are going to either be so minor or you can't even tell that he had anything done. Regardless of the potential health risks, the thing that is so silly about it all of this from what we've been shown, Gene Simmons is NOT a man to waste money.moreless

Anyway, This episode was pretty good. I like when Gene made his son put away the computer and go with him to the spa. It was funny how the spa scene was edited to make them seem high on the oxygen even though they were not. I think Gene needs to take some lessons before he braves the slopes again. He could have been killed like Sonny Bono. I can't believe the film crew let him go to the top of the mountian. So far I'm not to sure I like the plastic sugery. Shanon's mouth looks funny and she is having a hard time talking and I agree with Nick when he said his father looks like Pat from Karate Kid. The story line was predictable almost like it was planned out. Isn't this supposed to be a reality show.moreless
