I thought this show was very well written and an improvement over some of the other episodes (e.g., middle-aged women bearing breasts, nympho doctors and uncontrollable laughing clonws). What made this episode so good was that it was a character study of the characters we know and like. The breakup between Robin and Patrick was absolutely heart-breaking. After maintaining a monogamous but casual relationship for over a year, Patrick the player refused to take the next step and settle down, however, for Robin, she couldn't ignore her maternal feelings and take a chance for motherhood (which may be her only chance). I really felt for Robin when she explained to Patrick that she couldn't walk away from Anna. But then when a guy claiming to be Anna's father showed up, that's when I really felt for Robin. Wait til she finds out about Patrick and Leyla.
Jason showed more humanity regarding his own paternity dilemma while relating to Robin. We also learned more about the mysterious Toussaint. Is he suffering from some illness? Even Dr. Ford showed some humanity in acknowledging that he allowed the doctors to perform a rogue surgery on Lainey's dad. I also felt bad for Lainey, especially knowing her dad would have survived if not for Jolene's sabotage.
My favorite scene of course though has to be Epiphany telling her jerk of a son Stan to get the hell out of the hospital once and for all. LOL
All in all, a truly emotion-packed episode and one of the series' best.moreless

Robin and Patrick argue about Stacey's daughter, Patrick doesn't want to be a father, but Robin really wants to be a mother. Jolene asks Jason out, and Spinelli finds out. Epiphany kicks Stan out of the hospital for not showing respect. Jordan tells a willing Jolene to kill another patient. Lainey's father has surgery.
