  • Robin and Patrick break up based on their differences over Robin wanting to adopt Anna. The doctors and nurses perform an unauthorized surgery on Lainey's dad. Epiphany learns more about Toussaint. Jolene, the saboteur, strikes again!moreless

I thought this show was very well written and an improvement over some of the other episodes (e.g., middle-aged women bearing breasts, nympho doctors and uncontrollable laughing clonws). What made this episode so good was that it was a character study of the characters we know and like. The breakup between Robin and Patrick was absolutely heart-breaking. After maintaining a monogamous but casual relationship for over a year, Patrick the player refused to take the next step and settle down, however, for Robin, she couldn't ignore her maternal feelings and take a chance for motherhood (which may be her only chance). I really felt for Robin when she explained to Patrick that she couldn't walk away from Anna. But then when a guy claiming to be Anna's father showed up, that's when I really felt for Robin. Wait til she finds out about Patrick and Leyla.

Jason showed more humanity regarding his own paternity dilemma while relating to Robin. We also learned more about the mysterious Toussaint. Is he suffering from some illness? Even Dr. Ford showed some humanity in acknowledging that he allowed the doctors to perform a rogue surgery on Lainey's dad. I also felt bad for Lainey, especially knowing her dad would have survived if not for Jolene's sabotage.

My favorite scene of course though has to be Epiphany telling her jerk of a son Stan to get the hell out of the hospital once and for all. LOL

All in all, a truly emotion-packed episode and one of the series' best.moreless
  • This show has gotten better.

Although I didn't like the show when it started because of its serious continuity problem, I've grown to like it. Jason performing an emergency c-section was compelling, and revealing that that the perky blonde nurse is the killer in the hospital is great. There are still some continuity problems tough. Maxie's in the hospital with a heart problem again, while on the regular Gh she's just fine. And Spinelli is smitten with Lulu on GH, but on GHNS he's all over the psycho blonde girl. I also like Epiphany and Billy Dee Williams's characters. However, I don't believe for a moment that the bandaged patient is really Brenda Barret. Vanessa Marcil would't come back when she has a primetime carreer. It might be her mother, though. Maybe we'll find out tonight.moreless

    • Robin: I believe in Fate. I believe that something bigger than you and I put this child into my life. She shouldn't even be here right now. She should be going home with her mother, a single woman who's HIV positive. That's what Stacy wanted. You know what? Maybe I'm second best but I am the closest thing that little girl has to her mother's dream.
      Patrick: You're nobody's second best.
Robin: I'm not ignorning your feelings. I didn't think I was ready either but I held that little girl in my arms and I knew I couldn't walk away. I don't want to change you. I don't want to force you into something that doesn't make you feel comfortable. But I honestly... I don't think I could live with myself if I let Anna go into foster care when I'm here ready to love her.
Patrick: Then you know what you have to do.
Robin: I'm not choosing her over you. I just know that... you'll get along fine without me. But I'm not sure that Anna should... or can.
Patrick: Robin... you're going to be a wonderful mother.

    • Regina: I should have just listened to you instead of risking my whole future.
      Jolene: You wanted to help.
Regina: I wanted to stick it to Miss Ice Queen Princess Leyla. You know the worst part about it is? She's as good as she thinks she is.
Jolene: It's because she doesn't care. Same with Patrick Drake. They're all about being the best. The last thing they think about is the patient or the patient's family. People like that don't belong in medicine.

    • Epiphany: "The Saints" were on top of the world. 10 platinum records.
Toussaint: Oh, ho, you do your homework, don't you?
Epiphany: I still have every one. I would stand in line and buy them the day they were released. I just couldn't believe it when I heard that you'd left the group.
      Toussaint: "Creative differences."
Epiphany: I read somewhere that Leland McCoy pulled a gun on you.
      Toussaint: Creative differences.

    • Regina: Why are you spying on Jolene?
Spinelli: Um, uh, heh... I'm not spying, Pink One. The Jackal was merely watching from afar trying to uncover the cause of, uh, the Fair Jolene's mood swings.
      Regina: She yelled at you?
Spinelli: She called me a stalker.
Regina: And your solution is to follow her around some more?
