  • Surely one of the best ever British comedy series.

I know that people talk about Only Fools and Horses being the best, but for me, this is it. In case anybody doesn't know what it is about, it is basically about a middle-aged married couple who, after having their London home compulsory purchased by the Council, move to Hampton Wick into a posh neighbourhood. The series is basically about Mildred, the sex-starved wife, trying to better herself and George, her work-shy husband, who seems to delight in upsetting their neighbours. Only 5 series were made, due to the death of Yootha Joyce, but I would recommend this to anybody who appreciates genuine British comedy.
  • I liked George and Mildred. I have been watching it since it was replayed. I liked Ann Fourmile played by Sheila Fearn because she used to make me laugh a lot and she looks the same as Anne Town.

George and Mildred is a spin-off of the hit British series, Man About the House. The landlords, George and Mildred Roper, have moved on to a new life and now experience life as the tenants, not the landlords. The Fourmiles are the landlords who are often popping their heads in where it doesn't belong. For years the main characters have remained in the story. Others came and went sometimes for short periods and sometimes for many episodes. They helped to make the story more exciting.

Some of the main characters were Jeffrey, George, Ann, Mildred and Tristram.

Each episode is a story on its own but it forms part of the whole story.
