  • I saw George Lopez's live show in New Mexico last night and wanted to see if it was the same as this TV special. It was, and both were a bunch of racist drivel. I was extremely disappointed because his sitcom is so hilarious.moreless

Don't waste your time on this rarely amusing disappointment. George Lopez has a fantastic TV show, but his comedy routine leaves much to be desired. The two main points of the show are 1)pointing out how stupid he thinks stereotypical white people are and 2)promoting old hispanic stereotypes. A few lines deserve chuckles, but the majority of his jokes are pathetic attempts to spur racial tension between hispanics and whites. The real problem here is that racism isn't funny. People and situations can be funny, and even stereotypes can have their place in comedy. Here George Lopez crosses a line where he is trying to get laughs by promoting ignorance.moreless
