  • Valente Rodriguez

    Ernesto 'Ernie' Cardenas

    9.0
Valente Rodriguez was born in Edcouch, Texas, the last of eight children in a family of migrant farm workers. As a child, he worried his parents because he spent all of his spare time reading and studying. Later he would become the first person in his family to graduate from high school and go to college. Valente took a summer class in theater at a local university, Pan American (now part of the University of Texas), then remained to pursue a growing interest in drama and to stay close to home and family. Over four years there, he starred in more than 30 mainstage plays and garnered three Irene Ryan awards (a national award for college theater). The training and guidance by one of his professors, Dr. Marian Monta, set him on his path to Los Angeles and the entertainment industry. Valente moved to Los Angeles in 1988 and auditioned for Jose Luis Valenzuela's Latino Theater Lab at the Los Angeles Theater Center, becoming part of its workshop. During five years at LATC he appeared in "The Inspector General," "Stone Wedding," "Ten November," "The Crucible," "Day of Hope" and the lab's annual "Noche de Risa y Susto." He also toured the Soviet Union with the Mark Taper Forum's Improvisational Theater Project (ITP) and played one of two leads in the U.S. premiere of "Robinson & Crusoe" with ITP. In L.A. • Constance Marie

    Angie Palmero Lopez

    8.5
Constance Marie Lpez has to be one of the industry's busiest actors, juggling two prime-time series: The 20th Century Fox TV / Greenblatt Janollari one-hour drama "American Family" (2002), which airs on PBS and the new Warner Bros. / ABC half-hour sitcom, The George Lopez Show. On the critically praised American Family, Marie stars alongside Edward James Olmos, Sonia Braga, Esai Morales and Raquel Welch, starring as "Nina", a daughter in the Gonzales family and a sexy legal aid attorney, whose liberal and political ideas are constantly challenged by her conservative father "Jess", played by Olmos. American Family is the legendary public broadcasting network's first-ever, original television series, with principle funding provided by PBS, CPB and Fox Television and international distribution being handled by Twentieth Century Fox. On The George Lopez Show, Marie stars as "Angie Lopez", George's wife and the mother of his two kids. The new series stars stand-up comedian George Lopez and will air during the last half hour of Marie's other series, American Family. Most recently, Marie was seen starring as "Yolanda" in the highly celebrated Samuel Goldwyn film, Tortilla Soup (2001), which opened in August of 2001. She played the daughter of Raquel Welch, who coincidentally stars as her aunt in the up-coming TV series. Marie's thriving career on both the small and big screen began when, as a teenager in Los Angeles' underground break-dancing scene, she was selected out of a group of 500 hopefuls to dance in David Bowie's Glass Spider Tour. Upon arriving back in Los Angeles, Marie was cast as a dancer in the movie Salsa. The film's choreographer introduced her to Steve Tisch, who gave Marie her very first acting job and an amazing one at that: a series regular role as "Penny" on CBS's "Dirty Dancing" (1988). While TV was Marie's first job, she began to desire work in feature films, as well. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before Marie was working in features, starring as "Toni Sanchez" in the critically recognized 1995 Newline feature My Family (1995), directed by Gregory Nava. The project was also the first of many times Marie has worked with fellow actor and good friend Edward James Olmos. Marie went on to win praise from fans for her portrayal of Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla's mother, "Marcella Quintanilla", in the blockbuster film Selena (1997). Only a year older than her onscreen daughter (portrayed by Jennifer Lopez), the young and sexy Marie had to undergo four hours of extensive make-up in order for her to look like Selena's mom. The role in Selena catapulted Marie into on of the industry's most sought-after actresses, who has continued to work almost non-stop since. TV Producer Gary David Goldberg immediately offered Marie a role as Michael J. Fox's antagonist love interest, "Gabby", on the hit ABC series Spin City, a stint that helped the series achieve some of its highest ratings to date. Series regular offers were pouring in and Marie found herself starring as "Gabriella Diaz", on the top ten, "NBC Must-See-TV" series "Union Square" (1997). The cancellation of the highly publicized Union Square allowed the in-demand Marie to quickly jumped into another role, as "Detective Toni Brigatti" on the popular CBS series "Early Edition" (1996), where she played series lead Kyle Chandler's love interest for two seasons. Marie's other credits include the Chris Mac Quarrie written NBC pilot The Underworld, opposite Kevin Pollack and the Mario Van Peebles-directed ABC pilot, Missing Persons. Marie is one the industry's few actors who has successfully established themselves as a key-player in both film and television. In addition to her numerous film and television starring roles, Marie recently co-starred in the surprise comedy hit See Spot Run (2001) and the 2000 Sundance Film Festival favorite Dancing in September (2000). She has also had strong reoccurring roles on the series' Two Guys and a Girl for ABC, and For Your Love for the WB. Marie recently went back to her dancing roots to portray "Inez Cortez", a salsa champion on the hit FOX series Ally McBeal.moreless

  • Steve Schirripa

    Tony Durango

    8.4
Steve Schirripa was born in Brooklyn, NY - a city noted more for the mob stereotype. But stereotypes, like a wiseguy's alibi, can be misleading. Now a series regular on David Chase's acclaimed HBO drama The Sopranos, the Brooklyn College graduate's acting odyssey began while working at a hotel on the Las Vegas strip. Schirripa can also add published writer to his list of credits. A GOOMBA'S GUILD TO LIFE, published by Clarkson Potter, was a National Bestseller. His new book, THE GOOMBA's BOOK OF LOVE, is in stores now. And he has just closed the Deal to write a third. As entertainment director of The Riviera Hotel, Steve worked with such comedians as Drew Carey, Kevin Pollack and Bruce Baum. His cameo roles in their comedy specials led to episodic work on the small screen, with Steve continually appearing in more productions. Over the past year, he has guest stared on The George Lopez Show, Law and Order, Ed, My Wife and Kids with Damon Wayans, The King of Queens with Kevin James, and a Columbo Movie of the Week. Steve has been a guest on numerous talk shows, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Today Show, Craig Kilborne, Good Morning America, Fox and Friends Good Day Live, Jimmy Kimmel Live and numerous other national and regional talk and radio shows. A few years ago, while in New York for a wedding, Steve managed to get an audition for The Sopranos. Just as fast as you can say, You want crumbcake? he was cast as Bobby Bacala - Uncle Junior's right hand man. It would be easy to think of this as simply perfect casting, but truth be told, Steve put in many hours doing double duty at the hotel while making time for acting classes. It's fortunate for him that a large Italian man with comic timing was needed. Steve's big screen credentials are as formidable as his portrayal of Bobby Bacala. He's played memorable characters in DETROIT ROCK CITY, FLINTSTONES-VIVA ROCK VEGAS, and has also landed roles in films directed by such notables as Martin Scorsese, CASINO, Terry Gilliam, FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS and Ron Shelton's PLAY IT TO THE BONE. While finishing his fourth season on the award winning David Chase series The Sopranos, Steve has also kept up on his film work; he has just completed shooting the independent feature film STUEY. Schirripa can be heard on several episodes of the A&E series Crime Scenes, which will air early 2004. He can be seen Monday Night Mayhem with John Turturro and opposite David Spade in MEET JOE DIRT. Steven also starred opposite David Arquette in SEE SPOT RUN.moreless
  • Ashley Edner

    9.3
Ashley Edner is an award winning actress who is only 12 years old. Just five years ago, Ashley made her feature film debut working opposite Winona Ryder in LOST SOULS playing a sweet child with a not so sweet agenda. Ashley's ease in going from comedic to dramatic roles is evident as she has over thirty guest starring roles to her credit. An emotional role in CBS's JUDGING AMY earned Ashley a Young Artist Award nomination and she won a Young Artist Award for her compelling portrayal of Melissa Bates in an episode of USA's THE HUNTRESS. In addition to guest starring, Ashley had recurring roles on the EMMY award winning sketch comedy MADtv on FOX and played Rebecca Fyoomay on THE AMANDA SHOW on Nickelodeon. Her love for animals made her work in RAIN one of her favorite roles. The film is based on a true story of a German Shepard named Rain who is trained to fight in the Vietnam War where his courage in the face of adversity wins the respect and loyalty of his platoon. Ashley's performance as Amy Davis, working opposite Susan Dey, in the family war drama earned her another Young Artists Award nomination. In the DICKIE ROBERTS, FORMER CHILD STAR Ashley worked with David Spade showing her versatility as an actress in the Paramount Pictures comedy about a thirty-something former child star who hires a foster family to re-create the childhood he never had. Ashley has an amazing ability to do "voices" and she has lent her talent to several animated projects. Recently she voiced a five-year-old British girl in an animated feature film called GNOMEO AND JULIET for Elton John's production company. Ashley is in good company as Academy Award winner Dame Judi Dench and Kate Winslet also provide voices for this new Disney-backed venture about garden gnomes. In one of Charles M. Schultz's beloved Peanuts cartoons, Ashley brings 'Sally' to life in IT'S THE PIED PIPER, CHARLIE BROWN. Ashley has several upcoming projects: the Dreamworks film HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG starring Jennifer Connelly and Ben Kingsley and she just completed Hallmark Channels telefilm MONSTER MAKERS opposite Academy Award nominee Linda Blair due to be released in the fall. After a chance meeting with Britney Spears, Ashley was asked to appear as pop superstar's younger self at the beginning of her stage performance on the 42nd Annual GRAMMY Awards just days before it aired. That led to another thrilling and challenging moment for Ashley when she performed Live on stage with OSCAR winner Jon Voight on HBO's Britney Spears Live From Las Vegas, playing the young Britney Spears for an enthusiastic crowd of almost 20,000 people. When this multi-talented young actress is not in front of the camera, Ashley enjoys singing, dancing, hanging out with her friends and little Maltese. • Paget Brewster

    Ginger

    8.4
Paget Brewster took an auspicious if roundabout path to an acting career. Firstly she sought out fame in New York, where she was the singer for an underground rock band, then later moved to San Francisco where she became a local television personality. From there, she moved to Los Angeles, where she acted in a string of failed pilots, landed a recurring role on NBC's hit sitcom "Friends" and made her starring regular debut on the 1999 CBS series "Love & Money".

Dark-haired and quick witted, with a winning smile and a mischievous allure, Brewster broke through as a talk show host on the aptly named late-night series "The Paget Show", aired on San Francisco's KPIX. Fielding topics that ranged from serious family disputes to drag queen makeovers, she had a likeable, spunky presence and came across well in the genre.

The series was courted by syndication companies, the USA Network and Fox, but despite this interest, and no doubt partly due to the influx of other talkers on the air at the time, "The Paget Show" never lived past its 65 episode KPIX incarnation. Still, her engaging energetic presence opened doors for acting opportunities, and she filmed two failed sitcom pilots for Fox, the music video network-set "MV24" and a zany vehicle for comedian Dana Gould entitled "World on a String". Persevering despite these early disappointments, Brewster landed a role on the popular NBC sitcom "Friends", playing Kathy, a medical assistant/actress who dates hunky but dim Joey, only to fall in love with his sarcastic, self-effacing roommate Chandler.

Brewster appeared on six episodes of the series, significantly raising her profile and lining up more starring roles in failed pilots, including the Fox police series "Ghost Cop" and the CBS detective drama "The Expert". 1998 saw her take on a recurring voice role in the Fox animated adventure adaptation "Godzilla: The Series" and a starring role as a NASA technician in the action packed "Max Q" (ABC), producer Jerry Bruckheimer's misfired TV-movie debut. Brewster struck gold with "Love & Money", a CBS pilot picked up for the 1999 fall season, in which she starred as Allison Conklin, a kindergarten teacher and daughter of privilege who falls for her affluent apartment building's blue-collar superintendent (Brian Van Holt).

With a supporting cast including Swoosie Kurtz as her boozy mother and David Ogden Stiers as her austere father, she made her network television starring debut in good company and considered the series, whether or not it proved a hit, an invaluable learning experience. On the big screen, Brewster starred in the 1998 independent feature "Let's Talk About Sex", as Michelle, an intimacy-wary and controlling single woman who routinely dates much younger men.

Brewster played a fast-talking down-on-her luck actress in Bill Fishman's "Desperate But Not Serious" (lensed 1998), co-starring Christine Taylor and Claudia Schiffer and was later featured in "The Specials" (lensed 1998) as Ms. Indestructible, comprising, along with actors including Rob Lowe and Thomas Haden Church, a group of oddly powered superheroes in this "Mystery Men" (1999) reminiscent comedy.

. Brewster's range of talent is additionally exhibited in her guest appearance in the "George Lopez Show" where her comedic ability was stellar. As of 2008, Paget resides in Los Angeles, California and stars in the television show "Criminal Minds" on CBS.moreless

  • Jodi Lyn O'Keefe

    Campbell

    9.2
Jodi Lyn O'Keefe was born on October 10, 1978 in Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey. She was the youngest of three sisters. Her childhood saw her with a bowl haircut, and as a self-described dork. Jodie saw her older sister modeling though, and decided she, too wanted to give it a try. She did, and says the modeling jobs brought her more confidence and more friends.

She attended a Catholic school, and says she shot up. She went from being the shortest in to 5'8", leaving her taller, and a complete klutz. But midway through her junior year, she left school to start on Another World, the soap opera. She then got a role on Nash Bridges, as Don Johnson's daughter. She and her mother moved out to Hollywood, so Jodi finished her schooling by mail.

Jodi was well on her way to stardom, but a role in 1999's popular teen flick She's All That brought her to the forefront. The comedy had her playing Taylor Vaughn, the most popular (and conceited) girl in school. When asked if it was hard to play such a character, Jodi replied, "Everybody knew a Taylor Vaughn in high school.. Working in show business, you meet girls like that everyday."

Jodi carried on filming both movies and for Nash Bridges up until the series ended in 2001. Her last film was a sequel to Rose McGowan's little known movie Dearly Devoted. Her character in the sequel was named Debbie Strong, however Rose played Debbie Strand, which had fans confused, but still growing.

Since then Jodi has been laying low at home for a while. Fans have often left messages on forums querying why the young, talented, respectively cheap and available actress has found no work for two years. Answer? She's been together with Nash Bridges co-star Jaime Gomez. Other than that no reason can be given. Her career was beginning to take off before she vanished. She makes the odd appearance at movie premieres and parties from time to time, however. That, until she found work on a regular basis on the hit series Prison Break.
