George and Ernie worked at Mr. Camillo's restaurant during High school
At the end of the episode when George and Angie were at the restaurant Angie told George that her father does not want her to go to Cuba unless Castro is not in power anymore. George replies and says the thing is for 2020 and Castro would dead or her dad would be senile and they could tell him that they are in Cuba when they were actually in Malibu. This is incorrect he should have said that they are in Malibu when actually they are in Cuba.
George's dad, Manny Lopez, died in this episode right before George donates a kidney to him.
Angie: What are you doing honey?
George: Well they might ask a few people to say a few words at the funeral, so I'm just writing down some thoughts.
Angie: Wanna run them by me?
George: Okay. (reading from a notepad) As many of you know, may dad meant a lot to people. Not just as a husband and a father but as (turns and reads from a computer screen) a licensed and bonded contractor in the Phoenix area for over 25 years.
Angie: What are you doing?
George: Angie, I got nothing! I mean I punched him, he threw me in jail. I offered him a kidney, he died. That's like five seconds! So I'm getting some more stuff off his company's website. (reading from his notepad again) My father didn't just love people, he (turning to read from the computer screen again) loved beating any written estimate. Equal opportunity employer. Also, hablaba español.
George: Hey, how was church?
Angie: Fine. Father Rick called you "one of the angels among us" 'cause you're donating a kidney to your dad.
George: I like that. Y'know Angie, if those pews reclined, and the priests gave the Raiders scores I'd go to church every Sunday.
