Which the series wasn't ground breaking as Kate & Allie was, it did have it moments. Telma Hopkins was brillant in her role as the mother of Marcus and Darren (a reunited duo of Merlin Santana and Deon Richmond-The Cosby Show alum) and she was very believable as a widowed mother of two child. Cindy Williams played the ditzy mother of two daughters to a T. She was always trying to help her kids despite the fact they didn't want her help at times. Merlin and Deon played the brother roles very well and you could see the chemistry between them. The girls also worked well together and sadly haven't been see since the series ended.
A nice show that should have been given a better chance to make it. Too bad the WB or UPN were around to get the show when it ended.moreless
