Episode Summary

EDIT
Zak and his team visit Bonnie Springs Ranch in Nevada, a wild west theme park in Nevada built on an actual settler's camp in the Red Rock Canyon just outside the Las Vegas strip. By day a tourist attraction, but by night the location takes on a whole new atmosphere. Will the GAC find the spirits of old gunslingers and Native Americans, or is there something worse waiting in the sagebrush to bushwhack them?moreless

  • Worst episode since Execution Rocks.

I have to admit, I wasn't holding out much hope when I saw where they were investigating this week. I know theme parks have just as much chance of having ghosts as anywhere else, especially one that's on a trail taken by pioneers west and with plenty of Native Americans in the vicinity. But let's face it, the entire place is a tourist attraction and an illusion of wild western life- plenty of reason for someone to be eager to inflate stories and jump to paranormal conclusions! And that seems to be exactly what we got in this episode, a lot of hype, and very little evidence. There was ONE EVP that I considered as being possibly real- ONE!!! And the shadow?! Did anybody besides the GAC and their ride along buddy from Bonnie Springs actually SEE ANYTHING?! I sure as heck couldn't, no matter how many times they kept showing their footage of the so-called incident! A word of advice to Zak, Nick, and Aaron- it's okay to sometimes go to a place with no real paranormal activity- Ghost Hunters proves that week after week. Just be rational enough to admit it when it happens.

The only reason I give this a 4 instead of a worse score is because they actually did some solid debunking, which is kind of a rarity for these guys. That cold spot looked like the best piece of evidence they had all night, and they could have just gotten excited and sworn that the ghost of Sitting Bull, or his Paiute equivalent, was sitting on that stage and they didn't. They did their best to tell the straight story. Which makes me believe that there's some hope for them yet, even though they see shadows where there aren't any- the eyes play tricks when you want something that badly, and by that time of night getting nothing, I'm sure the guys wanted it really, REALLY badly!moreless
  • I hate to rate anything a 1, but this episode just calls for the "1"s

My review: when i saw where they were going, i thought the episode would be exciting, but no, they brought in another team and wasted to much time talking and blabbering. Three pieces of evidence were captured, and they weren't good. The voice "let me tell you something" wasn't clear, "come here" was nothing but noise and the shadow figure they "caught" i didn't see crap, I hate being so harsh on this show knowing they can't control what they capture but PLEASE avoid this episode.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Zak: (as he climbs the butte where the Paiutes used to live) You hoping to get a good shot when I fall?
Nick: That's why I've got the camera pointed on you.
Zak: That's why you brought me up this way!
      NicK: (laughing) Why?
Zak: Isn't it weird that he's leading me to the most dangerous areas, and then when I get there, he doesn't help, he just keeps filming?

    • Zak: I know it's a make believe town built in the 1960s, but it has that creepy carnival feel to it. Like, when you walk around here, you're being watched. If you have spirits during the wagon trail days, who is the attraction really built for, the living or the dead?
      Joe Tasso: Good question!

    • EVP: Let me tell you something.

    • Aaron: (hearing a coyote howl) We're screwed if they come into this town. For real, dude! They sound close!
Nick: You'll be meat for the beast.
Aaron: You know, I don't know which is more spooky, ghosts or a bunch of coyotes running around!
Nick: I'll give you that answer- coyotes!

  • NOTES (1)

    • This was scheduled to be the last episode of the season, but the GAC had so many further investigations they considered to be worthy of showing, so they decided to extend the season.
