  • I liked it.

    9.0
GAC gets locked down on the USS Hornet, which is claimed to be haunted by the spirits of sailors who died on the ship during World War Two (II). ("This Episode was dedicated to all the men and women who have fought for their country.")

Overall, a very good episode and should be viewed by fans of this show

    Overall a 9.0 out of 10.
  • No real evidence captured.

Was surprised to see this episode ranked so highly up the list. This episode didn't do anything for me to be honest, because nothing actually happens. Their evidence was poor so makes for a boring episode. They do their best but if the spirits are not up for revealing themselves what can you do? It falls into the category of the newer episodes where there seems to be less focus on the actual ghost hunt, and more attention on the guys fooling around beforehand.I see on the episode ratings that this is 12 places ahead of the Rolling Hills Sanitarium which really does make the mind boggle. So much concrete evidence was captured there i.e the pictures of Roy and the scream. However the USS hornet doesn't bring any cocnrete evidence to the table.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Also Appearing:
Daryl Chang - Security Officer, USS Hornet
      Loyd Auerbach - Parapsychologist
      Nancy Bowman - Eyewitness
Keith LaDue - Program Manager, USS Hornet
Heidi Schave - Historian, USS Hornet
Kris Schave - Tour Guide, USS Hornet

    • Kris Schave, one of the USS Hornet's tour guides, joins the guys for part of the investigation to act as a "trigger object". According to Schave, women have gotten more response from the spirits inhabiting the ship, since it is thought to be haunted by the male sailors who served on her during WWII.

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Zak: (as she shows him one of the ship's paranormal hot spots, a briefing room) Kris, what room is this?
Kris: This is 'Intelligence Room', the old briefing room.
Zak: 'Intelligence Room'? Is this where the intelligent spirits hang out?
Kris: Well, I'd say if they're classified, yes.

    • Aaron: (as Zak feigns a serious injury in sickbay) Did you die in this room, like he's about to die?
      Spirit Box: Almost.

    • Zak: (after Aaron feels his shirt tugged) Did you just pull on his shirt?!
      Spirit Box: That's right.
Aaron: That's right?! (Aaron freaks out, then they leave the room, with him at the back of the line) I don't want to be last. I don't want to be the last!
      Spirit Box: I'm sorry.

    • Zak: (when Heidi says much of the paranormal activity centers around women) They never saw women when they were out at sea. They were attracted to you. We've run into this before at prison...
Heidi: (giving a comic fist pump) Yes!
Zak: She says, 'Yes!' So, we should use her as a trigger object too, shouldn't we?

  • NOTES (2)

    • While filming this episode, the GAC were contacted by the Kids Wish Network, which had a young girl with leukemia whose wish was to meet them. The girl and her family were given some paranormal equipment and invited to join them in their initial investigation of the ship. The girl was also given some souvenirs, including the EMF meters she'd used, t-shirts, and a necklace that belonged to Zak.

    • The USS Hornet has also been investigated by TAPS in their fourth season Ghost Hunters episode "U.S.S. Hornet". MTV's Fear visited the ship in its first season episode "U.S.S. Hornet". It would also be the location for an episode of the Travel Channel's show Zak Bagans' Paranormal Challenge titles "USS Hornet".
