Episode Summary

EDIT

The Ghost Hunters Academy team lands in Wilmington, North Carolina for their next investigation: A stem-to-stern scouring of the USS North Carolina, a famous vessel from World War II. The ship has been the site of numerous reported paranormal phenomena, including objects moving, shadows, noises, strange lights and even apparitions. With two full nights to spend on the ship, the recruits are ready and enthusiastic to get things underway.

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Chris: We wrecked our set-up. We went in there very confused, very disorganized, very amateur. The only thing we can take from that is, just never to do it again!

      • Susan: (as they hurry to get set up, hours behind schedule) It seems like everybody's trying to cut corners, and it's frustrating me. I don't really care how long we review evidence, I just really think we have to have a very thorough sweep.

      • Ben: Steve and Tango told us we should take notes, because the ship is one complete maze. I think all of our egos kind of popped out- we thought we could handle it and go down there with no notes and find out where everything was. We got down there and we got completely lost. It would have been nice to have some notes to reference to find where we needed to go, but we messed up big time!

    • NOTES (2)

      • Lessons Learned
        1. It's the recruit's responsibility to have the information passed on by the group leaders about their investigation site at their fingertips, so taking thorough notes is a must.
        2. Don't take for granted that someone else has set up equipment properly- double check everything, including your own work!
        3. Tagging normal sounds made by the investigators (such as coughing, moving a chair, etc) is VITAL when doing an EVP session, since there's no other way for those listening to the audio during the evidence review to know whether a sound heard is paranormal or has a mundane explanation. If you don't tag your EVP sessions properly, you may as well just throw it all away.

      • Steve previously investigated the USS North Carolina along with TAPS in the second season Ghost Hunters episode "Mordecai & USS N. Caroline". Interestingly enough, Steve's previous investigation in the battleship was also a training mission, with Ghost Hunters International lead investigator Dustin Pari being trained, along with another TAPS member Jen Rossi. Dave Tango, however, was not with TAPS at this time.
