In the 1880s the Bird Cage Theatre in Tombstone, Arizona was a popular night spot was frequented by such legends as Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp. TAPS travels to the heart of the Old West to find out of any of the famous patrons still frequent the old place.moreless
  • Went to Tombstone

Went to Tombstone, came home and watched a recording of this show, went to my photos and saw two images in the bedroom mirror. Great episode. Had I known the Bird Cage was haunted, I may not have gone in! The image was of a women sitting down (Kate) and a man standing wearing a black brim hat (Doc). I also thought I saw two images in a framed photo on the wall. We also saw an orb over the stage area, but orbs aren't always conclusive.

I hope Ghost Hunters goes back and repositions their cameras, hopefully they can catch the fleeting lady.moreless

really good, the place itself was creepy and that random music that came from nowhere..spooky.The camera cord thing falling was kinda strange, a ghost pulling a cord down..haha.. who would know? I watch this episode whenever it comes on its just really good.Overall its one of my all time favorites. A+ episode
  • Another interesting location but inadequate camera set up and investigation.

Tombstone is an awesome place. Its so full of American history and the old west its awe inspriing. The Birdcage theatre held a lot of intersting things for TAPS in this episode. But poor camera locating made them miss out on the best shots. I think Grant and Jason handled the aparition of the lady in the white dress and bonnett very well. That was the best way they could have handled what happened short of not having film. The wire and the bell event was very interesting, but I have watched that clip a hundred times and I cannot see it happening. I'm not doubting it did, I just cannot see it actually happening so I cannot say for sure if the entity unwrapped it as they claim it had to or if it just up and flipped off. One thing that bug the pants off me is the darned golf ball on the roof sounds. They hear the noise twice by two different teams and then just dismiss it like what was that, oh well. They should have made a bee line outside to take a shot around the building and show that no kids were out there tossing balls or plant pods on the roof. They should have gotten a ladder and showed Grant or Jason going up and looking around for what made the sound. This is one of many of this type of slip up and non-follow through mistakes the TAPS members seem to make. I think this show could have produced more solid evidence if the cameras were set up better and they followed through on certain events. The music EVP was very cool, and was about the best catch in this episode.moreless
  • I enjoyed this episode except for a cpiule of small points.

I really do enjoy this show but this wasn't my favorite eposide yet I think they could have done more with this location I mean its the Birdcage Theater. I cord falling off the bell was cool but I would have liked to see an enlargement of that portion of the video to see it better. The apperation was cool and I'm glad they didn't show it. I would ahve been more inclined to believe it was faked. I like to think they are legitimate and not just doing this for TV. Can't wait for the next episode.moreless
  • The series is trying harder to find stuff to get on camera.

This season starts in Tombstone and if you can't find a ghost in that town you might as well look for a diffrent line of work. The only problem I have with this series is that they don't use any of the footage shot by the sci-fi people in the reveals. I think that if they tried a little harder they would be able to catch more phenomenon if they just used a little of the footage. Or at least used it to show that thier guys were reacting to something that happened to them. This could be used to prove or disprove sightings also. especially wwith the type of low light cameras they use it could be very cool , seeing the reactions used as part of the reveal. I still like the show very much. Its one of the few things the Sci-Fi channel is doing right.moreless

    • Jason: I'm an Old West buff and when it comes down to Tombstone, Arizona, you've got the Earp family, the shootout with the Clantons, and the place is full of death. I'm looking really forward to this.

    • Brian: It's kind of weird to see things like this. You already know the history so you can just, like, picture stuff actually happening as you see it. You know what I mean? Steve: I'm doing a lot of picturing in the brothel area. Brian: Yeah, yeah, same here.

    • Dave: (after Brian claims to have smelled perfume in a doorway) It could be me, I smell nice. Brian: (leaning over to get a sniff of Dave) No, it wasn't you.

    • Grant: A lot of people call a full-bodied apparition the Holy Grail. You know, I think the only thing you can do to top that is to have an interaction between an investigator and an entity. That would be the ultimate.

  • NOTES (3)

    ADD NOTES
    • This episode is listed under the title "Tombstone" at the official Ghost Hunters website.

    • The Birdcage Theater is one of the few places that both Grant and Jason declare to be "haunted", rather than just having paranormal activity. The two men (particularly Jason) are reluctant to give that label to a place unless they see indisputable proof that there is an actual spiritual entity within the location, such as the apparition that they both claim to have witnessed.
