The team investigates The Lighthouse Inn in New London, Conn., which is reported to be haunted by the ghost of a bride who fell down a flight of stairs on her wedding day in 1930. Drops in temperature are recorded, and Steve feels someone touch him on his back when no one else is nearby. They then travel to Ashland, Mass. to a pub called Stone's Public House, formerly The Railroad House. Here, a little girl died after being hit by a train. Glasses have been known to fly off the shelves, lights turn themselves on, and a number of other occurrences have been documented.moreless
  • This episode, in my opinion, is what separates GHOST HUNTERS from the touchy-feely spiritual schlock that's out there: a scientific approach.

    "Great"
There are only a few "ghost shows" that are available in today's TV market, but many of them aren't worth the time. Some are no more than ghost stories, some are touchy-feely spiritual schlock, and then there's GHOST HUNTERS, which takes quite a scientific approach. This is evident in the John Stone Tavern episode. Besides some somewhat interesting EVP recordings, a light anomaly is captured on film. While initially interesting, what caught my attention even more was the team's approach: they didn't immediately jump to conclusions, they didn't panic, their first reaction was to investigate - to disprove or remove all shadow of doubt. They did cast doubt on their findings which, to me, makes this show even more credible. I feel confident, watching this show, that what I see, and what they may find, is legit.moreless

    • Brian: (setting up at the John Stone Tavern) When you do paranormal investigating over years, and years, and years, and you go to so many cases and see so many things, you can almost feel when there's something around. (he starts scanning the room with his flashlight) And that's what I'm getting right now.

    • EVP: (in a masculine, whispered voice) I am not... I am not...

    • Jason: The Atlantic Paranormal society aka TAPS was created by me in 1990. Our main goal is to research, educate, and protect the people having an experience.

    • Grant: When it comes to Jason and his personal experience that got him trying to find answers, he and I both have had experiences that just... you can't do anything but start to question and you know, they're too personal to share.

    • Grant: Ready for the BS to stop flowing tonight, I really am. Jason: (grinning at Grant) I haven't given you any.

    • Jason: (after Brian Bell and Brian Harnois have been arguing) You know there's been a lot of tension building in the air between Bell and Harnois. Grant: We've gotta find some way to release that. Jason: Why don't we just lock them in a little room together and walk away? Grant: There you go. Jason: I don't know who would come out of there. Grant: Probably Brian.

    • Keith: We ask if there are any children here, they could not remain earthbound, but that their angels convey them to heaven.

    • Grant: Sometimes catching a ghost is a success, but it's just as successful to disprove something.
