  • And Scared I Was

I remembert having the hell scared out of me watching this episode in it's first run. Great Series, though it suffered once it became "Circle of Fear".
  • Quite good for a pilot episode...

This is an interesting little obscure series and this pilot has alot to offer as far as what the quality of the series would become.

There are alot of things that I enjoy off this pilot episode, I enjoy Sebastian Cabot as Winston Essex introducing the episode at the beginning his character is quite mysterious and never truly explained. This pilot is also directed by the ever capable John Llewellyn Moxey who directed another TV horror classic The Night Stalker with Darren Mcgavin.

Good simple story here with capable actors, Barbara Parkins stands out as the wife who simply wants to protect her baby and doesn't truly understand what is going on. Sam Jaffe as the old man who explains to her the history of the hill where there house is located is quite good, this gives some nice back story as to what is going on. Also the episode has some nice eerie shots at night and of a statue that is incorporated in the episode. The final shot of the woman ghost is quite unsettling and it has a nice EC comic horror quality to it with the conclusion. All in all a great start to what would be at times a wonderful series.
