Ghost Whisperer

Ned thinks one of his professors, Avery Grant, is being haunted. Ned wants to be her teaching assistant so he can have full access to the library that first found the Book of Changes. This leads Avery to think that Ned has a crush on her. Eli asks for Melinda and Eli's assistance to discover who the ghost is.

Eli reveals that Avery's fiancé, Curtis, was killed in a car accident, which leads them to believe he is the ghost. Avery runs into a man, Brian, over and over again. She starts to suspect that Curtis is still with her. Ned brings out the Ouji board to attempt to contact the ghost, but he doesn't succeed. Avery runs into Brian again and talks to him. She discovers that he's experienced a similar loss to her own. He had lost his daughter, Madison, in a car accident. It turns out that Curtis was the other car in the accident. He hit Brian's car, killing himself and Madison.

Melinda see's the ghost, and it is Madison. Avery is very distraught, and drives back to the scene of the crash. She is careless and drives off the side of the road, but Brian, who is also there visiting the scene, saves her. Eli and Melinda figure out that Madison wants her father to have a connection with someone; to meet someone and move forward. Melinda crosses Madison over and Brian and Avery agree to explore their relationship. This episode ends with Melinda concerned over a message the Ouji board gives her; that someone they know is going to die soon.
