  • Some funny moments but a pretty contrived ghost plot this week

This episode had some pretty good funny scenes with Eli and a bumbling ghost hunter who uses gadgets and special cameras/sensors etc. But the true meaning behind the ghost and the ghost's motivations was too simplistic I thought. I found Sam/Jim's response to everything to be pretty silly too. Something felt really 'off' in David Conrad's performance - it just did not ring true at all - it fell flat. Maybe it is the directing - I noticed on IMDB the director listed isn't listed as having done any other GW episodes. But it was fun to see Jenn Leigh Green (Libby from Sabrina the Teenage Witch) as a guest star and she was good in her role.moreless

Some unexpected chemistry with some secondary characters…

I really liked the chemistry between Eli and Linus. The two worked together nicely with Eli being able to hear the ghosts and Linus being able to "see" them with his equipment. (Linus' "talker" never seemed to work). Ergo, the two of them, together, could do what Melinda, by herself does so very, very well.

Linus, of course, is a little "over the top" in marketing himself. He arrives in a hearse announcing his paranormal activities. He's an embarrassment to the serious business of dealing with ghosts. But what the heck? He's young. He's a believer.

Sadly, the "ghost stories" are becoming secondary to Melinda's continued relationship with Sam/Jim. At this point, I'd be perfectly fine if she'd "cross over" for a break and let Eli and Linus handle the ghost issues until she's ready to make a comeback.moreless
  • This episodes is exceptional...but then the "ghost whisperer" series is exceptional

I thought this episode was great and full of emotion for all the cast. They did a fantastic job not only to the casts but also to the writers and producers and all other people involved i bringing this show to air. Keep up with the show I don't miss any episodes..... Curious to see if Deliah gets involved with somebody special...Maybe Eli...Either way it would be great since she hasnt had any dating since the fireman...what happened to him...Be great if Ned has a major role as I think his character could do with a positive lift...Anyway keep up with the showmoreless
  • Melinda runs into a paranormal researcher followed by a spirit helping him along.

I sort of both enjoyed and was irritated by this episode. One, the script is sort of insulting to us real praranormal researchers who take the field so seriously. The ghost hunter caricature is really insulting and not as professional as the real guys who actually look for logical reasons before looking for the real thing. Melinda's opinion of paranormal researchers sort of ruins the ghost hunting script I have which implies she's not a fan of any serious researchers. At least Jim/Sam finally learns her secret! I hate the whole Jim sub-plot going on; it was a really bad idea and it seems to be going no where, but at least he's catching on. A few saving graces, the name of Linus for one of the characters had be expecting Ben linus from "Lost" to pop in for a cameo. Another thing, I really, really loved seeing Jenna Leigh Green again! I so missed her when she left Sabrina and this was such a wonderful non-Libby role for her to really shine as an actress. She really deserves her own series! Overall, a few dislikes and likes, but a really good episode.moreless
  • Melinda revealed her gift to Sam/Jim. The ghost story and the Melinda/Jim/Sam storylines were exceptional. The actors did a great job. We see more of Eli and Deliah.

I think that this is the best JLH produced episode so far. The minor characters are more involved with the plot. The ghost storyline was so cute and interesting. The father really wanted to make amends to the daughter's boyfriend after he died. The twist in the end that the boyfriend/ghost buster was haunted and not the people that hire him. I don't like the ending of the original plot of the old lady dying in the secret room. The father has been scoping out cases for the boyfriend. Sam/Jim finally figured out Melinda's secret. His reaction was sweet. Good episode.moreless

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Delia: You have to tell him about it. I mean at best he'll believe you and at worst he'll think that you're eccentric, like I did. (Melinda doesn't reply). What?
Melinda: Nothing. It's just, I was going to tell him at dinner tonight but a part of me was hoping you would talk me out of it.
Delia: Why? You tell people you see ghosts all the time.
Melinda: Yes, but it's not usually followed up with 'Oh by the way, you're my husband's soul in another man's body, could you, could you pass the salt?'

    • Sam: Eli, help me. I know you worked on this case.
Eli: Case, what are you talking about? I'm a professor.
Sam: Yeah but you're also a clinical psychologist who consults with the police.
Eli: What makes you think that?
Sam: Because you told me one night over drinks.
      Eli: I gotta quit drinking.
      Sam: You had one beer.
Eli: That's pathetic; I gotta quit bragging.

    • Melinda: (About Linus) I thought you said this was a passion for him.
Eli: It is, and after seeing my first spirit, I'm thinking of quitting my day job too.
Melinda: You're that inspired by some shifting greeny blob?
Eli: Don't call Mrs. Blueberry a blob. She's a nice, murdered, little old lady.
