I would have to say that watching this episode really touched home. I am currently deployed and this episode was well done. It shows what we go threw being here and what happens when we go home. Dealing with integrating ourselves back into the real world can be a challenge and i believe this episode showed just that. It was a heart touch episode that I am forever grateful for them making. For those that thought is wasn't that great you have no clue what your talking about. I think the writers had a great idea with it. Thank you from a US Army Soldier serving this country proud.
  • Probably my favorite episode!

This was an AWESOME episode! Not enough people praise our brave troops in Iraq for risking their lives to protect ours. This is my favorite episode. This was so touching that my mother cryed at the end. Looks like the writers know what's really happening.

I just wish all shows could do something like this, and show the libril brain washers a thing or two about how we all need this war, for the sake of our lives. This is a great episode and if you haven't seen this I recomend it to everyone who is a fan of this show.

This was such an emotional episode. We were lead to believe that he was a coward the whole episode. I really believed it actually, and then it ends up with him being a brave, brave hero. And it was so cool that for once he could here and sense the ghosts himself, post traumatic stress Melinda called it. Lol;) At the ceremony at the ending I must say I got a little teary wet. The whole episode was well build up with a surprising ending. Totally loved it in every way. Liked the song at the ending to. I hope they keep this great episodes coming!
  • To be honest, I think this episode is on of the best of all the seasons I've seen. This time in this episode where a part of the war is explained is well done. No difficult explanations or what so ever.

To be honest, I think this episode is on of the best of all the seasons I've seen.

This time in this episode where a part of the war is explained is well done. No difficult explanations or what so ever.

No question if it's an honest war, or that we never should have invaded Iraq.

No, just the story of a soldier who survived hell on earth. Lost all his buddies and

even can't remember crucial things. This is happening in the real world more than often. A lot of people look at the

soldiers who has been to war as they were/are killers. But that's very shortsighted.

I know that even people who joins the army think they will never be in a real war.

And even most soldiers don't know what can happen if they survice such war.

A lot of misunderstanding by their former friends who can't of will not understand

how a veteran feels. I think this episode has done a good part to show that.

    The unbelieve, the questions......

First time I give an episode a 10 but for me this one rulez....
  • This episode was a great episode and has some of the main points of why I like this show.

One of the reasons why I like to watch Ghost Whisperer is that the episodes usually have scary or sad moments. In this episode, it had both scary and sad moments in it. Usually, the episodes are only scary, but in "Haunted Hero" it was scary with a ghost you served in Iraq was haunting another soldier in his unit and sad when the group of soldiers from Iraq that died came to the guy and told him how he was a hero and they said goodbye. Throughout the episode, I was thinking that the guy really did leave his men behind like the dead soldier's dad told Melinda, but then it we found out that he really tried to save his men. This episode was really good and a great episode to help start off the season.
  • This episode was really great!!

I think that this episode was ver special because it had actual soldiers who went to Iraq on this episode to make sure it was more realistic. I really liked this idea for a episode and I hope there are more episodes like this! The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't very good Melinda and Jim moments but there was some scenes with them but they weren't the really cute scenes. My favorite part would have to be the end at the ceremony because it was just so great that they forgave each other. This was a fantastic episode!
  • An American soldier comes back from Iraq with the ghosts of his men haunting him.

While the premise of the story seems like it would be a good one it didn't work with the show. This was clearly a filler episode. I understand the writers had good intentions and included current events in the story to give some connection to real life but in this sense it didn't work. From the men haunting him to why they were haunting him to the widowed wife to the father of one of the deceased soldiers it didn't work. Maybe it is because the whole war and people dying over there is a sore subject or maybe it was just a badly written story but sometimes it is best to just go with what you know and trying too hard to be different sometimes can backfire….like here. For the record, I did get a little teary eyed when the father saluted the soldier at the ceremony for the fallen soldiers. That part worked.

I just watched the episode... hmmm... maybe because I am a girl, so I don't really fancy about wars... But one thing I really like about this episode is that, the characters always play with the audience emotion.

The story line is pretty predictable, but it does keep your head thinking, what does the notes mean? It keep me glued to the seat.

But the soldier (Matt was it), earlier during the episode, I thought he is going to propose to the girlfriend. Somehow, only an announcement. I can see the dissapointment on the girlfriend's face. Even Melinda can feels it too! By the way, Melinda look gorgeous in her new hairdo!

A very poignant and moving story in which Jim's friend Matt comes home with amnesia. And is still being haunted by losing everyone in his unit. It also pays tribute to those that lost their lives in combat. But it shows real-life servicemen who fought for our country. Which makes it a lot more realistic in the show. Melinda helps Matt find some closure as his friends come to her for help. And assist her as well. Shows at the end, the Memorial. As my grandad also fought in WWII. He was drafted btw. Really shows you that we take servicemen and women for granted. And hopefully, we won't ever forget them and their good deeds being done.
  • great one, good theme and great actions scenes

this was a great episode. A town hero, Matt Murphy, comes back home but he is not alone. Jim and Melinda are waiting for him and so is Gina, his girlfriend. Minutes after he arrives, him and Melinda hear shots, there are ghosts involved.

Matt's unit was killed in Iraq and he was the only who came home alive. Along the way Melinda finds out that the ghosts are Matt's friends, the one who died. Jim ask him what happen in Iraq but he doesn't remember...

In his welcome party, he introduces Anna, wife of one of his friends, Rocky. Rocky's father asked NSA to open an investigation, he has a video of the attack and Matt runs away leaving his team behind. He wants answers.

After some panic attacks and runs, at the end he get the story right. The guys were there to help him remember and because the never leave a man behind.

He his in the square with Jim and Melinda shows up. The team is also there. She gives him a envelope that he gave Rocky in Iraq.

Matt saved them, he when on a suicide mission...

In the fight, after giving Rocky the envelope, Matt gets in the Humvee and runs thought a wall here where enemies. Then he kills another one but his gun jammed and Rocky saves him, killing the last one. They are going to get him but on of the guys steps into a ground mile and they die.

Matt saved them and when they came for him they died...

Now that everything is OK, they can cross over.

Gina shows up and he gives her the wedding ring he made in Iraq, the one inside the envelope.

Rocky's father learns the truth too.
  • This was a good episode of Ghost Whisperer pretty standard for those who have been watching the show long term. Kudos for going after one of the most controversial topics around and the set pieces and action sequences were great. The guest

This was a good episode of Ghost Whisperer pretty standard for those who have been watching the show long term. Kudos for going after one of the most controversial topics around and the set pieces and action sequences were great. The guest stars did very well and the path to get to the truth was very engaging. This episode also gets points for giving us a break from some of the series standards. It was oddly un-creepy and the ghost or ghosts wanting to take Melinda's head off. Everything lined up perfectly to make a nice story about a sensitive subject good job.
  • War hero tormented by ghost's of fallen soldiers in his unit.

Wonderful episode of a soldier returning from tour whose troops were killed in action. The show was well written, with one error that I found offensive. At the conclusion of the show a Memorial Ceremony was given in honor of the fallen soldiers, the flag should have been waving at half mast in honor of those fallen soldiers. After such a poignant recount of how these men died it was a shame to end the show on that note. The American Flag waves proudly, whether at full or half mast. It represents so much more when flown at half mast. I hope I am not the only one to find offense at this oversight.

He comes back with the ghosts of his men that all died one the same day in Iraq. But the Matt doesn't have any memory of that day and one of the soilders fathers have video of Matt leaving his men under fire. But it turns out that Matt was going to sacrifice himself for his men so they could get home. But they ended stepping on a mine. The ghost followed him home to let him know that they are ok with what happen in Iraq. This episode was a really emotional one. I guess it shows that just coming home doesn't mean you leave your demons behind.
  • This episode was a fantastic episode about a young soldier coming home from the war in utter distress and depression after losing his troop.

Wow this episodes was truly inspiring and so very sad. I really liked how this episode focused on a much more important subject like the wars. Of course I was a little disappointed again not seeing many Jim/Melinda moments as I would have liked to see. The end was probably the best part in my opinion. I thought it was so sweet when Mat gave Gina the ring he had made in Iraq as her engagement ring. So sweet!!!!!!!I guess it was a bit of an eye opener f what is really going on and how much those soldiers witness and have to deal with for the rest of their lives. It really is upsetting but I thought this was a great episode especially being a stand alone episode!
  • What should have been a great show is rendered soporific beyond two great guest performances and an honorable topic.

Herbert and his father were wonderful characters, rendered expertly by the performers. The scenes they were in were compelling. The writing overall ... and the segments featuring soldiers ... were well-intentioned, but even the lead actress (despite crying on cue) seemed to be trudging through this one. And yet again, David Conrad not only calls in his performance but puts the show on call waiting. Mohr and Mannheim were utterly wasted. Mohr is, to me, the best thing about the series and to backseat him to Conrad is unfortunate, no matter the reason. Mohr brings a lot of energy to every scene. Conrad (who has been good in other things) seems to be fighting to stay awake.
