  • I really liked the story of the imaginary friend, but Jim's death made it a complete drama. First Andrea dies, which was someone who understood Melinda completely, and now Jim? And the characters who supposed to substitute, don't get her.

I will watch next week, but if Jim crosses over, I will stop watching my most favorite show.

I miss a character like Andrea, her best friend, who always understood Melinda and had a nice sense of humor. I miss a character like the Professor who had this brilliant sarcasm and humor and worked with her solving mysteries. I won't miss Jim, because I simply will stop watching the show if he crosses over.

None of my favorite characters have been replaced with characters that have the above qualities and I think that is what made this series so fun to watch. It's more and more becoming a drama and I don't like it.
  • An expectantly beautiful moment brings a tense drama with life-altering conclusions.

Shark moment. This seems to be a time of running out of ideas. It's amazing when there's still so much 'mythology' that could be explored. Although I was hoping to put it off longer, I knew this moment was inevitable. Writers today run out of ideas and almost always kill off a main love. I read one review who said that people will not like this because they don't like change. While a part of this may be true, I think a larger view would be that nothing changed. Writers will always kill off the love. It happens in every series. This one is no different. It's not that we dislike it because it's a change. We dislike it because it's the same - there was no change. I believe that this may very well be the death of the show. Jim offered Hope. Without hope, the will to live dies too.
  • Worst Episode.

This is the worst episode. Who kills off a main character by a cop shooting from a distance at a shadow??? What on earth were the writers thinking? That's right they werent!

The next thing will be she is pregnant and has to raise the baby on her own. The I heard a rumour she starts dating 8 episodes later? What the hell? 8 episodes?? Most of the time it takes the dam writers 7 years before do anything!!! (i.e. Gilmore Girls, idiots wasted time there) Bury her husband then goes on a date.....

Ghost Whisperer was one of my favourite shows. I couldn't wait for the latest episode. Until now.

This has done it for me. Will be watching Jim cross over and that's it. Why bother wasting my time when all the writers ever do is waste ours.

(If by some miracle he survives, I take back nearly everything I said)
  • A really sad episode

    "Superb"
I may say I had that coming, but when it truly happens it only makes me sad :(

I can't believe Jim is dead :( It will be even sadder even Melinda got pregnant.

They were a couple so cute, why this needs to happen? I wonder.

The episode was cute about belief and all, it only makes me sad he is dead now.

I mean it is like anything is good enough. I hope the serie is not only about dying people Melinda loves.

I guess I am a bit upset about it, but I will need to check it out the next ones.
  • The Death of Jim (and possibly the death of Ghost Whisperer!)

    9.0
    "Superb"
In this episode of Ghost Whisperer, the following happens. Jim and Melinda go to a lake cabin, with their friends and their daughter. Melinda soon believes that the little girl is seeing a ghost in the house. Melinda soon believes that it may be the little girl's biological father, who died a few years before. Before long strange things seem to be happening, and everyone seems to think that the little girl, Natalie has something to do with it. We soon learn from the little girl that her "friend" is called Owen and has leg braces. We soon learn from the grandmother that her daughter also had the same "friend" when she was Natalie's age. Trish, Natalie's mother, is told the truth about everything by Melinda and Owen says that he has to play the game with her and her only or else something bad will happen. Soon Trish agrees to play Owens game. The game results in Trish having leaches on her face. Melinda soon learns that Owen died in a lake, the one around the house at which they are all staying. When they piece all of the clues together, they come up with Trish's fiancé Robert. We soon learn that everything he has told her is a lie. Trish cancels the wedding and her fiancée is arrested. Melinda believes that Owen has crossed over until he comes to the store to visit her to warn her. Melinda phones a police friend to met her at the lodge and she heads straight there.

We then see Jim entering the lodge and then we see Hunter (the fiancé) sitting in a chair drinking and holding a gun. The gun soon goes off and the police man shots in order to save Jim. Only he hits Jim by accident. An ambulance soon arrives and takes Jim to the hospital. Jim has an operation and we are told that he should be ok, but they're going to keep an eye on him. Trish and Natalie turn up at the hospital as does Owen. Melinda gets Owen to cross over. We then see Melinda in Jim room waiting for him to wake up. She falls asleep and when she awakes it seems as though Jim is awake. We then see that Jim is in fact a ghost. He has died. It Melinda a few seconds to realise this and when she does she is devastated. She breaks down in tears.
  • Very interesting episode of this show, very interesting changes occurs

    6.0

One of the show's appealing things is the Melinda-Jim couple relationship, and how they support each other. After the normal ghost-helping job of Melinda, it is very interesting finding out the changes the producer and writers of the show came on with. Making that couple split in that particular and painful way it is very hard to accept. Making him be killed in an accident was very awesome but still they did. It is very sad to see this happen because one of the shows appealing was Melinda's marriage and how he supported her in all her ghost "jobs". Also I think if this is revenge against Melinda from his ghost enemies, they should come up with something else different and maybe scarier.
  • Why?

    10
    "Perfect"
Killing Jim. Why? But I'll guess Melinda will be seeing him a lot, just the fact that he's dead now, doesn't stop her from talking to him. But it seems like he said his goodbyes, since he wanted her to remember him as he was, and not looking at the body. Jim got shot but died from an embolism, that is just stupid. It would make more sense if they just shot him and then he died, but what do I know? Gonna be very interesting and see where the show is heading know, since this is the second main role they've killed. (Thinking about Andrea)
  • Melinda and Jim go to a lodge for a wedding of Jim's friend when Malinda meet's a boy who's leaving them clues. But disaster strikes at the end of this episode.

Very upset that Jim was killed off he is one of the best in the show I liked his wit and support of Malinda very sorry to see him go. Very heart breaking episode. Didn't see that one coming at all. But I knew they would do it sooner or later. I liked that this episode had a puzzle solving as it gives you a chance to figure things out for yourself and gets you part of the show. Not a very scary episode and some of the clues the boy left were misleading to the viewers. Very well done.

this episode starts off, with melinda, jim, and three friends at the antique shop. Her friend is getting married, and jim and melinda will be staying at the huge house, where the wedding will take place. great friends. As the episode goes on, the brides' old child hood friend who died when they were little, plays a game, with her to reveal the true identy of the groom and his friend, who were actually planning to take all that the bride has. the groom, is mad. the ending is crazy. jim almost gets shot by an angry ex groom. Then he does get shot. he ends up gone. the ending espically, was soo sad! not fair. jim was only trying to help. this is what he gets.how does that make sense? it doesn't. i hate that part.
  • Really brilliant episode! But such a sad one, too!

Ghost Whisperer hit its absolute climax with this terrific instalment. This episode featured a really interesting case and ghost, who was trying to save a woman from marrying a n evil man. I loved the idea of the games that the baoy was making them play.

The episode was deifinitely a suspenseful one, as well, particularly at the end, when Jim went in and found Hunter with a gun. That really was scary, and the episode endwed really sadly and really porly in my opinion.

I now can't wait to see how this storyline is going to continue, but I really hope that it continues to be this amazing! Great job guys!
  • This girl see's a ghost who is a child. This ghost tries to tell her to get her mother to play this game. The mother doesn't want to play at first, until Melinda convinces her and she finds out that the guy she is marryinig isn't who she thinks he is.

    Then the unthinkable happens!!!

They killed off Jim???? I'm sorry but what the heck are these writers thinking? Why did they have to kill him off?? They could have made him leave and that way if the wanted to come back he could. To kill off a huge character like that? Who knows though maybe she's pregnant now.. But Still bad decision making on the writers part!

I think this will make Melinda a lot stronger but I just don't agree with killing him off. How much more does this woman have to take????? She need's Jim!!! It was very sad

first they killed andrea, which was mel`s best friend and really fit into the show..after that, professor rick payne took off (and he was funny..he made me be less sad about the people who died)..and now jim?why jim??what`s next?kill melinda?i mean come ooon,dude...this is just too much!i`m really disappointed and frankly,i don`t know if i`ll ever watch the show..i saw every episode (some of them a couple of times) but i don`t think i`m going to do that anymore..i hope they`ll bring him back...if they don`t,then goooodbye ghost whisperer! it`s a pitty...

p.s. and yeah,it made me cry too..it was so unexpected and awful..it began from being a nice show to watch,it continued with awesome stuff and now it`s all bull..

    *pitiful!!
  • I'm really hoping that what has happened isn't true, but somehow I still think this was an amazing episode!

    9.0
    "Superb"
I frequently tear up during tv shows and movies, but this episode was probably one of the few times that I was literally bawling my eyes out at the end. I am really hoping that, as I saw in someone else's review, the embolism does not kill Jim, but maybe only puts him in a coma or something so he'll recover. The end scene was so well done! I knew what was going to happen because I read tons of spoilers (oops!), but this was probably one of the best scenes of ghost whisperer ever (even though something horrible happened in it). Jim's line, "Just look at me, right here. Please look at me, right now. Look, look at me right here. I want you to remember me this way. Please," had be bawling my eyes out and I can't wait to see how the story unfolds. That is, I can't wait to see Jim come back to life and find out that Mel is pregnant (hopefully!) or something like that (he better come back to life or this will become one of my least favorite episodes probably). Here's to Jim living.... great, tear jerking episode!
  • Killing off the main character would definitely jump the shark. There's another possibility. An embolism rarely kills. They could revive him and or kill him slowly ala coma/end of life decision. Either way, I hated this episode.

Well...I suppose I didn't hate the kid ghost thing. I liked the game. I liked the fact that the bad guy did something stupid because he was ticked off. It was realistic. I don't watch TV for realism. I watch TV for escapism. Give me my mushy happy sitcom endings. I'm fine with that, right now. This would have been a much better ending if it had omitted the killing Jim thing...
  • I had a feeling when all was said and done that some people would have a hard time with this one. Acceptance is not easy from an audience that wants everything to remain the same.

I knew that she would have to pay a price for being who and what she is, this was told to her last year. The audience saw it coming and some have run in fear, not wanting it to be true. Forgive the world for things are never constant and shows that remain constant are so boring. I have never liked shows that fought the passage of time by being constantly boring. Yet change is difficult to accept and so is death and yet from the beginning that is what this show has been about, DEATH! People do die and sometimes it is those close to us and we have to accept that and move on. Moments are sometimes sad and meaningless, they seem to make no sense and that my friends is what death sometimes is. get over it and accept just as she will!

Come on guys, how could a wound in the arm from a gun shot make Jim dies??does not make sense to me. the writers did a mistake in timing of the story line. we need him to live again so we can see his smile when he see his first born child. not taken him away after what he been through... you make me not excited to watch it again next time... i hope u bring him back so we be back to watch again. Jim still and will be the main character with Melinda, i hope and really wish from the witters not to take out too many good and effective characters from the story line.
  • End of the line for me

    "Abysmal"
Well I was waiting for that, ever since the ghost told Melinda she brought death back with her, but I was hoping I was wrong. The show has been getting a bit too repetitive anyway and after this, I'm done. Killing Jim makes the one thing that kept the show from being all tears all the time disappear and leaving only melodrama. The show is bound to get depressing and I'd much rather watch something fun.

I've watched every episode so far and have enjoyed most of them - I think killing Jim was a very stupid mistake, but it's done now and so am I.
  • A huge surprise ending.

Wow, did not that see that coming. I understand that this will dishearten many viewers but I think the death will shake the show up and make things even more exciting.

The backstory to this week's ghost was very intriguing; a young boy haunting a woman that used to play with him, wanting her to partake in one final game. Things played out well and we had some really intense horror movie like moments. Disappointed with the minimal use of Eli here, but I can understand why his presence was not needed here. There is not much else to critique though as after the first few minutes this episode was nonstop action and entertainment. Very strong edition of Ghost Whisperer.
  • NO!!!

Jim cannot die!!! Not only that the episode was stupid and boring but Jim is gonna die too?? NO! This is insane - I don't even want to think about what the next episode is going to be - we will be shown how everything that was built in 3-4 years will fall apart. There is no way that the Ghost Whisperer can continue without Jim, I am really sorry but I just don't see it happening. And what? He died for some couple we saw for the first time? For all I care the house could have exploded and killed all the guests and family EXCEPT Jim an Melinda. This is a very big mistake...
  • Very Sad Episode.

    "Good"
Not one episode has made me cry until this one. I can't believe they killed off Jim, I had a feeling he would die when he got shot but I was hoping he would still be alive. It made a good ending to this episode but, I think now that Jim is killed off it killed the show. This was a pretty good episode though. I liked the hide and seek game with the clues, very confusing. But I think this show is becoming more of like a soap opera, the previous seasons were so much better than this season. Hopefully the next episode will be good.
  • Melinda and Jim attend a wedding for and old friend. There is a lot more instore for all of them than just a simple wedding.

I love this show, I love the realationship that Jim and Melinda have. Jim dieng was a shock and so sad. I honestly think it was the dumbest thing to do. He made the show worth watching as he worked a long side with Melinda. I don't think this show will ever be the same. At first I thought he lost his arm then I saw how he was sitting up and knew people didn't do that after surgery. The saddest episode ever. It made me really mad and I think the show is going to be hard to watch. I love Jim and Melinda. Very sad and surprising episode.
  • I cried. Its so sad, it makes me not want to watch it anymore. Ive watched every episode so far and none of them made me cry so bad. I bet shes pregnant though,I mean one end and a new beginning? Maybe? Or maybe he will come back(I wish)

Its a real tearjerker. They killed jim, I mean how bad is that, that ruins the show, but it was probably coming right. Wahh how stupid, cant wait til next week, but I know I will cry. This whole show makes you cry!!!! Its a good show though, I mean for a show to have such suspense and make you cry is a really great show.I was caught into the series for episode one, I was seriously hooked great show. This episode is none like no other so be prepared for the worst and bring some tissue! A+ + + +
  • They killed Jim?! *By the way, why are reviews for this episode on the show reviews page? lol.

First this episode starts out with Jim and Melinda helping Jim's old friend get married. They go to a cabin where the friend's (Trish) daughter is seeing a ghost, her imaginary friend. The ghost boy (Owen) plays a game with Trish and tries to tell her that the guy she's getting married to is a liar. She finds out and he wedding gets called off. When Jim and Melinda get back to Grandview, Jim tells Melinda that he has to go back and put the chairs up (or something like that). Owen shows up and tells Melinda that Hunter (the guy Trish was supposed to get married to) is still at the cabin. He says he doesn't want Melinda to get hurt, which leads Melinda to think that something is gonna happen to Jim. Back at the cabin Jim sees something moving in the cabin so he goes in and he sees Hunter who has a gun and wants to kill himself. Melinda calls her cop friend who goes up to the cabin with he close behind. Jim and Hunter get in a struggle inside fighting over the gun, and the cop not knowing that Jim is holding the gun, shoots him in the dark! Jim gets sent to the hospital where he has surgery, and everything looks fine, but they said there is a possibility of an embolism. Melinda sits by his side, waiting for him to wake up. She then sees him, and she thinks that he's awake, he tells her that he had an embolism, and his monitor goes to flatline; he's dead! It's so sad and Melinda doesn't want to believe it.

I liked this episode, and I really thought that Jim was gonna live, but he didn't! I can't believe they killed him in that way; with the cop shooting in the dark, not knowing who he was shooting at. It was so sad when Melinda found out he was dead! RIP Jim Clanahan.

*I guess the actor wanted to do something more since this show focused on Melinda so much, but I still liked the dynamic of Jim. He was the one that she could tell everything to and he wouldn't judge her. He will be missed!
