"Last Execution" concerns a man hanged for killing a romantic rival. The man happened to be a great artist, and there is a conflict over ownership of his paintings. His spirit has returned to set things right. Scarier than usual, this episode features the ghost as the hanged man, black hood and noose in place. He manages to scare Melinda and the viewers alike. Saige Thomson plays the man's daughter, a starving art student in possession of a single painting by her father while familiar TV actor Scott Paulin is the dead man's lawyer, who is in the process of shipping the bulk of her dad's paintings out of state. The ending is a pleasant surprise, but we have to contend with a ghost that can physically possess others, a rarity on this show.

This episode was the episode that scared me the most. I will never never never ever wash my hair in a sink because of what happened to Melinda even though it was just a ghost doing it. Melinda was really scared by this ghost to and i understand how she is imagine having someone being hanged in front of you over and over again. That was crazy when Melinda was being hanged een though it was just like a dream kind of thing what ever you call them. I also can't believe that women was sueing Jim and saying that he hurt her more but I am glad they caught her.
  • Simple, yet it still got me.

The Last Execution centers on an artist ghost and his daughter that is finding trouble around the world, especially when she struggles to be a painter. Melinda hopes to help the father cross over and to help the young girl through her struglle to break into the art industry and her hardships when it comes to money. With only the obstacles of disbelief and the father's old friend in the way, Melinda hopes to help the family through their problems.

The thing about The Last Execution is that it has a very simple story. There were no twists and turns to be found, but it still gets you hooked! Great episode!

This was one of the best episodes. It was full of excitement and it kept me hooked the entire time. I really liked the plot for this episode, it was very good. And I must say I screamed at least three times while watching this episode, and cried a little too. It was that good. The ghost was very interesting and I liked how Melinda got to go through the same experiances that the ghost did. And it was a good twist that he couldn't take of the mask until his daughter got the message, not going to say what it is because I don't want to give anything away. Once again a very good episode, I loved it!

This episode, "Last Execution," is a good one. A spirit follows Melinda home and she doesnt know why. She feels that this spirit has died in a horrible way because it appears to hear being hung. She goes to a party at a museum to celebrate the death of the spirit. A women shows up and is very upset that she painted a picture that deals with the ghosts death. Melinda finds out that the women is the daughter of the spirit. The story was that the dead spirit was accused of killing a man in the alley. His daughter wanted to call his inocense but she soon finds out that he was a murderer, but that it was an accident. She was very close with her dad, and at the end of the show, the spirit crosses over.
  • A seer of spirits who have not yet crossed, she not only helps them but the families or people who are left behind on this earth. The stories are based on real life stories therefore giving more credibility and more depth nad ultimatley more heart.

The most gripping episode yet- putting Melinda in shoes of the deceased, allowing her to see and feel what he had to go through. This is one of the top episodes as it gave us an insigt into how anger can overtake one's heart, how it can affect and blind one's actions. So if you haven;t seen any other episodes, this is the one to watch for.
  • Dark and scary seems to be the direction of this episode. Wrong turn in my opinion.

Taking a turn towards fright and scare and it is totally loosing the impact it had at the beginning. I really disliked this episode the most. It is becoming increasingly unbelievable.

The thing I hoped the show would not do is turn in this direction. Not only are they making the spirits spooky they are making them violent towards humans as well. If you are trying to tell us that spirits are dangerous then you made your point… however it seems contrary to the whole idea of the show. Now I am wondering if it was really me who fell down the steps the other day or if some spooky ghost pushed me.

The show can hold an audience without the spooks involved.

And if you must put in the spooks… make it an even balance.

  • Wow. I loved this episode!

Yes it was scary, but aren't they all! Thats what makes the show my favorite! I thought the ending was surprising and great. The fact the he was hanged freaked me out and it was better when he was normal. The hanging scene where it switched from melinda to the guy was sad and scary. But overall, I LOVED it!!!
  • A well written episode, full of excitment.

What can I say about the episode "Last Execution"? First off, it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, with the excitment of Melinda having her hair caught in the garbage disposal to Clete, in anger for how Rowe was treating his daughter, going in his body for him to feel what it's like to be continually hung in the gallows, which made Rowe agree that Leslie can have her father's paintings back.

Another thing that I found entralling about the episode was when Melinda got to feel what it was like to be excecuted by hanging. When that part of the episode happened, I have to say that felt chills, watching what happened and made me think that I wish it never happened to me.

However, the one thing that I found somewhat detracting to the episode was the lawsuit against Jim, just for helping a citizen who passed out in the town square. I also thought that it was kind of pointless that the show left that somewhat hanging near the end, with Jim taking the pictures to prove that the woman's injuries weren't the result of his helping her. The writers just left his storyline at that, and we didn't find out the result of his legal problem.

In all, I thought that this was a great episode. I hope that there are more like it through the rest of the season.
  • OMG OMG OMG I Love Love Love This Episode!

OMG I love this episode it was just amazing I loved every single part of it when Melinda got her hair caught in the sink drain I was so scared for her I thought it was just going to rip off of her head which freaked me out. How the Ghost appeared was also really freaky I can now no longer look at a plastic figure in the same way cause I would not want to see it come to life lol. I love the actress that played Leslie and I love how the father just wanted Melinda to help her it just had everything that makes a good show good. I love the part where Melinda got hanged it was so sad and dramatic the Black and White added so much impact to it I was so freaked out when the body droped OMG I love this episode.

I am so hooked even more I can't miss an episode anymore I just have to say thanks to the person who Wrote this episode and thats to Van Praagh for listening to fans that wanted the show to be darker along with the Creator John Grey. Last but not lease Jennifer Love Hewitt who proved to everyone she could act I love her so much and will always love every work she does.
