  • With Andrea gone into the light, new troubles arouse for Melinda. She must help her first true love crossover even with his love with her. Great episode.

After Andrea crosses over Melinda is sassy. A new character comes in the picture. She is in her store and a young teenager Ned is caught shop lifting. His mom, Delia is the new character. They talk and get along and both work close. A new friendship is bound to happen. Melinda finally discovers that this ghost that is contacting her is her ex boyfriend from highschool. He broke her heart because he didnt believe that she could see ghosts. He is sorry now and thinks they could be together. Jim gets jealous but Melinda comforms that he is dead and she is over him. He eventually crosses over, and everything is good. Great episode and shocking ending.moreless
  • Loved the guy who tricked Ned into stealing.

The character of the rock and roll enthusiast was very funny and for once instead of making me cry, it made me laugh. It was a very clever idea to how they introduced Delia and Ned. This rock and roll character quickly became my favourite and I was so disappointed that he had to cross-over so quickly.

I thought that the flashbacks were really good on how they showed the relationship between Melinda and Kyle. It was a little bit frightening how Kyle would not stop until Melinda would give in and admit that she belonged to him.

Melinda explains to him that it's too late, he's dead and she could never forgive him for what he did to her. He soon realises that it's time for him to cross-over and so he does, but not before he says "You were never forgettable."

I thought that it was a great episode but I just wish that the rock and roll character could have stuck around for a bit longer.moreless
  • One of the better episodes

I really really loved this episode. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Two ghosts and cleverly done too. I loved the story line with the young ghost getting Ned to steal the grateful dead tickets. He (Ned) is going to be a regular for a while i think. The ghost was pretty cool too. I loved loved loved the story line with the ex-boyfriend. All stalkery and desparatee, highlighting Melinda and Jim's relationship as one of the good ones. Plus a Party of Five reunion. This episode had it all...and a creepy ghost that will surely come back to haunt us in the future...

    Awesome eppy...moreless
  • Dead ex wants live ex! Does it get any better than this?

Sitting with some friends today I am watching some older Ghost Whisperers. This show is great and I'm glad to see epi's with the Wide Brim Hat man, Melinda's ex boyfriend, etc. I have watched all these epi's before but it's great fun to rewatch them again.

In Love Never Dies you see a man get hit by a car and die. Apparently he ignores the light for in this show he meets up with Melinda but won't show his face to her. He is busy playing games. When Melinda finally figures out who it is she is shocked to find out it's her ex! He wants to be with her now after dumping her when she revealed her secret to him. But a ghost and a live person can't be together so she finally manages to cross him over but it takes a lot of patience on her part to get it done!moreless
  • I loved it!

This has to be one of my favorite episodes, although I tend to say that about every single one. I like how they had Melinda's old boyfriend be the ghost and how he was in the last episode too, it was quite clever of them. Although I liked the episode, I didn't like the old boyfriend, he really creeped me out and he was so mean to Melinda. I mean he just walked away, so sad. I wanted to cry for her. Although I thought it was kind of wierd that the first two episodes of the season have similar names. I mean "Love Never Dies" and "Love Still Won't Die" It's clever but odd.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • In reference to episode Ghost Bride

Melinda makes a comment about an ex-boyfriend she had in college named Kevin McCall but in fact in this episode, his name is changed to Kyle McCall. Same ex-boyfriend who hurt her whom she thought had really 'loved' her for who she was.

    • Editing Faux Pas

When Melinda leaves town to go to Maine, she is driving a Jeep SUV with the spare tire in the middle of the vehicles' back. In the next scene, while driving past a lake, it is clearly a different SUV, whose spare tire is on the left hand side.

    • Delia walks into Melinda's shop asking if she's open, although a sign next to the door can be seen on the inside of the store saying "open," which would mean that from the outside the sign says "closed." Shouldn't she have read the sign before walking in? And shouldn't Melinda have either locked the door behind her since the store is closed or flipped the sign over to show that the store is open?

    • The backstage passes the boy tries to steal are for the Grateful Dead's New Year's Eve concert 12/31/87 at the Oakland Coliseum Arena. Her pricing of $275 each is way too high as most backstage passes for the Grateful Dead range between $10 - $50 each.

    • While her license tags, both front & back, have the colors of a New York state tag there is no state name on them. Besides the registration number of RWJ 8502 there is nothing but the words "Drive Safely" across the top.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Melinda: I never thought that I was gonna be able to trust anyone after Kyle... and then there was Jim.
Jim: You're not gonna break into song right now are you?
      Melinda: I might.

    • Melinda (talking about a ghost): I think this guy knows exactly what's happening, I think I'm just being played.
Jim: Ah, conned by a ghost, huh? That's not gonna look very good on the resume.

    • Melinda: I'm happily married and you're dead.
Mac: September 29th is the night we broke up, and September 29th is gonna be the night we get back together.

    • Mac (to Melinda) : I've had more fun being dead so far than the entire time I was alive.

    • Melinda: Kyle, wait, I know that you don't believe me, but please don't walk away. Just talk to me.
Mac: Yeah, maybe when I'm dead.

    • Melinda: You played me.
Mac: You're mad. I could never stand to make you mad.

    • (Ned enters the antique store)
      Ned: I'm not a thief.
      Melinda: Glad to hear it.

  • NOTES (6)

    • First appearance by Camryn Manheim (Delia). She was added to the opening credits, and she will be receiving the "And" credit, while David Conrad (Jim) will not receive it anymore.

Aisha Tyler (Andrea) was removed from the opening credits.

    • International Airdates:
      Denmark: November 9, 2006 on Kanal 4
Finland: August 2, 2008 on Nelonen

    • The Almost Lovelies - Pefect Stranger is the song played when Melinda is driving.

    • Lacey Chabert is listed as Special Guest Star in this episode.

    • Lacey Chabert who plays Donna in this episode played a parody version of a Jennifer Love Hewitt character in the past. Lacey parodied Jennifer's character Amanda Beckett from Can't Hardly Wait, as Amanda Becker in Not Another Teen Movie.

    • Lacey Chabert who played Donna Ellis also played Claudia Salinger in "Party of Five", Jennifer Love Hewitt's former TV series.

    • The stolen backstage passes are for the rock group, "The Grateful Dead." All the dead that Melinda has help can be assumed to be very grateful.
