  • An over rated episode of ghost whisperer.

I found this episode of ghost whisperer to be a bit overrated. I found the majority of the season 3 to be slightly better than season 2, but this last episode was so full of plot holes that it really made no since. So many questions were brought up, and the simple truth was this was probably sloppy writing. For example, the "fake" dad approached her prior to JLH finding the underground city, so how did that occur when it was his out of body experiences. Second, why did he go to JLH and help her several times, just to turn around and try to kill her after wondering why her "half brother" was so eager to off her. Then the question of why he took off and started another family after going to all that effort of wrongfully imprisoning, hiring an assassin, and murdering her lover so he can have her. Why does the brother have that ability when he has no genetic attachment to the "ghost whisperer" line? What was the planned between the brother and the dad, and what did that have anything to do with her at all? What was the point of any of this, since it seemed so irrelevant from important things, like all the other stories that never got resolved, such as the brimmed hat man, the underground city of lost souls, and the brother's dead collecting. Well, I guess as long as there is drama people will love the show, but personally I would like a coherent story that actually ends some of the story threads it starts up eventually. Hopefully, the show will go back to its' roots and the season 1 greatness it originally possessed.
  • I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens in Season 4.

At first me and the missus thought it might be the professor too. After re-watching it, if it is based on continuity it is Jim's (Melinda's Husband) shadow that is missing, but he can't be dead as the professor wouldn't have known there were 6 of them there if he was. So, if the professor is the one, his shadow should be missing. Again, looking back before it is mentioned, you can see them all having a conversation as Melinda and her Mum approach to head off for the ships. We don't think Jim is a Ghost, we think there might be something more to this, like a 'Shadow stealer'. Maybe when her Dad (the pretend one) died in the fall, we didn't see him 'going to the light' so maybe he has something to do with it.
  • When dealing with a young boy's ghost, Melinda ends up discovering the real truth about her family...

This episode was over the top. From the beginning to the end, I was surprised. I mean, who could have guessed that Tom Gordon's is not Melinda's father?! It was a great season finale, with lots of twists and turns during the episode. And Jim, he really revealed himself when he was talking to Tom Gordon, I never saw him act like that.

And I really enjoyed the way they ended it, with the missing shadow. I'm going to bet that Payne is dead, but they have been surprising me so much lately, that I cannot be one hundred percent sure..
  • Poor Prof. Payne he is dead what next, but they need to make it more interesting,

wow amazing episode i love the show but have longer story lines that intertwine with each other which are related to this big mystery guy down under and what are they preparing for love love love the show i just don't like how they start of with the mystery at the beginning of the show and they leave it until 3 episodes are left to get things interesting, but still an amazing episode, i am i'm really interested to see about the town under, come we need more about that mysteries guy and how is she going to save all of the ghosts, i would love her to get everyone crossed over but we'll see
  • Who saw that coming. It was the best seasn finalie yet, but now Melinda is less a brother and less a shadow(Confussed on that one )

The episode was great. One of the best episodes yet and definetly the best season finale. I knew her mother's secret was big but not that big. When it came out you had to think so hard and only smile as it was being revealed. Melinda only wanted to have a relation ship with her father adn the whole episode tried to protect him. And they never explained her "Brother" to us . i guess they are no longer related (GOOD). The end was the best part (no joke intended). She finds out the truth and calls for her father'shelp and the best line is when Melinda's -father says "I'm not your father" while he is choking her. Then the beaauty is when she says"I was'nt talking to you" and her father comes to the rescue. Then at the very end someone's shadow is aparently missing althugh i did't notice and what exactly does that mean. I GUESS WELL SEE!

this episode was one of the worst. i mean, it was alright, but come on! another death. the usual for ghost whisperer season finales. exept, this time they left us with a shocking question: who died? I want to say its jim, but it is rick, since the fantastic actor jay mohr is getting his own show. im happy for him, but ghost whisperer isnt gonna be the same without him. i really wanted mel and him to get together just once. and since he dies in this epp, and he is my favorite character, this was truly the worst epp of ghost whisperer ever. also, i didn't really like it how we found out that tom is the one who killed paul eastman, melinda's father. i mean, it is really sad how melinda isn't going to never going to ever live life with her father, and how tom was faking all these years of being her father. she was left with all of these questions of why her fake father left her and her mother at age of nine. in this season finale, i wanted to see a bit more gabriel. but no. in conclusion, they better find a diffrent season finale next season, or else ill stop watching the show for good.
  • This finale of ghost whisperer was great. The 5 shadows what a cliffhanger although it's clearly Pro. Payne we know he can't see ghost so how would he be able to see all six.

At first I thought it was Jim but you clearly see him pull Ned back when he is about to step into the road when the car is coming.

Then Jim, Ned and Delia start talking so that leaves either Melinda, her Mum or Payne, the only three that can see all six which unless Payne is a ghost or suddenly picked up the sixth sense.

Can't wait for season 4 and what about Gabriel obviously he isn't her brother because Tom Gordon wasn't her Dad. And I would love to see how she sorts out all the ghosts in the the church.
  • Well, good to know some of the answers but what about 5 shadows?

Ok so Prof knew there was 6 people but only 5 shadows and we all know Prof Pain can't see ghosts.

After the 'Clean Slate' Jim taps Prof on the arm and Prof reactish. Melinda and Mum link arms.

Deliah seems to be talking to Prof

    Prof grabs Melindas hand.

    Jim Grabs Ned, Ned reactish.

Jim sorta waves at Ned like saying 'can you seem me'

Jim has his arm around Deliah, then it cuts to the shadows. Jims at the back, the last shadow is bulky on the 2nd look at the shadows. Plus there is no gap in the shadows so it has to be the end ones.

So after all that looking back at the episode I am still no further to figuring out who its going to be..

I was so hoping Jim would die so Prof and Mel would get together... they make such a gr8 team and funny too.
  • What can I say, Ghost Whisperer deliverd once again with this episode!! I was very pleased with it!! I can't wait til next season to see what happens!!

What an outstanding way to leave the show for the summer. I'm definitely tuning in next season to find out what happens. A lot of questions were answered and more were opened. Now with her dad (not her real dad) dead I'm sure the story is going to get more interesting!! And, with her real dad crossing over it should make an interesting season of Ghost Whisperer. This episode really got involved to answer some questions we were all wondering about, and with the new season on the way more questions popped out, I don't think I'll be able to wait the entire summer for this show to return. I'm very happy to hear it was renewed!!
  • Such a great season finale. It left you with a lot of answers to previous questions, but with more follow up questions.

This was such a great episode. It filled you in on Melinda's past. Most of the questions Melinda and watchers have had about Melinda's father were answered in a very thrilling way. We find out the true identity to the clear-masked man and his association with Melinda, not to mention why her father left and the kind of man he really is. I don't want to give away too much to those of you who haven't seen it yet, but I encourage you to go to cbs.com or you tube, go somewhere and find a way to watch this episode. I can't wait until the new season starts.
  • Great Final Episode for the season. Answers your questions and leaves you with a few more food for though.

Great Episode. Just when you think they have summed it all up and are ready for an off into the sunset season finale they throw one at you to make you come back. I love that it leaves the viewer wanting to rewind a hundred times to be sure they saw what they thought they did. Gives you enough room to answer the questions for yourself. Enough doubt to make you come back. Wrapped all up with enough suspense to earn it a great rating for this seasons final episode. I have a pretty strong guess as to who wont be back next year. Can't wait til the next season.
  • I didn't know this was the season finale till i watched it. I have to say it was good, the show seems to have been getting a lot better of late, and i look forward to its return next season

A great episode here, bringing lots of lose threads together and leaving us with a great cliffhanger,in my opinion the best cliffhanger we've hade of any GW series.

A moving episode touching on the fears and strengths of many characters and showing them all developing and growing, it was great viewing and it will be good to see how Melinda's relationship develops with her mom now.

I don't know if it's me or in general has Prof Payne gone from being a smart interesting character last season to a bumbling comic foil in this?

THE ending is another of GW's cliffhangers, Though far more subtle and intriguing than the previous ones

. Bfore Payne made his revelation i had ,believe it or not, come to the same conclusion. If subconciously ,as i watched them walking with the happy music playing it,for some reason reminded me of the Beatles Abbey Rd cover with Paul barefooted and out of step. This should tell you who i think is not going to make it .
  • Well now we know everything

I'm so shocked. I never expected that Tom wasn't Mel's father. Paul is Melinda's father! I still can't believe it. But it's great because Tom was such a jerk. I loved the final scene with him - he tried to kill Melinda, but he ended up dead himself. Well of couse his ghost will be the BIG BAD now. Also the scene, when Jim yelled at Melinda's mother, was perfect. It's really great - now we know everything about Melinda's past and family.

Now the fourth season should be about the Old Grandview. But I don't think that it will be the last - there is still Tom's ghost, The Hat Man, Gabriel and the evil in the Church under Grandview. Also, about the five shadows in the end of the episode - I think that everyone is alive, but some evil power is doing something with the shadows.

Let's hope that there will be more seasons of Ghost Whisperer - the best TV show EVER.
  • Excellent episode!!! Who's stealing shadows? Okay, having watched the episode and read the comments. I actually rewatched the last 2 minutes of it and have left myself feeling very very confused!

    Excellent episode!!! Who's stealing shadows?

Okay, having watched the episode and read the comments. I actually rewatched the last 2 minutes of it and have left myself feeling very very confused!

The absent shadow originally led me to think there was a ghost amonst them and that the ghost HAD to be Payne! If it was anyone else then Payne wouldn't see the person and would only count 5 people. So, by Payne counting 6 people he must be the ghost.

Unfortunatly, Ned, Delia, Jim and Payne are all standing talking in the background and Jim even touches Payne's arm. Unless Payne can now see ghosts too it's not a ghost causing the absence of a shadow.

No one is dead in my opinon. Payne noticed the missing shaddow and he's not dead. He can't see ghosts so they are all alive. Now hopefully season 4 will be here quickly!!

Okay, so I have been bashing this show a little lately for not handling the Melinda/Dad/Gabriel story line well...

Tonight they actually came through on the family mystery... almost too much to process, but finally told the whole story... ALMOST...

So what about Gabriel... what were him and "dad" in cahoots about? Why all the cloak and dagger? He's a great good vs. Evil character and they didn't even mention him... But on the up side... What a GREAT ending! I did not expect a cliff hanger like that from this show! So cool that they killed a character and didn't tell you who... OUTSTANDING!
  • The secrets of Melinda's family are revealed!!

Well it's SEASON FINALE time again and as always, Ghost Whisperer ends with a mighty bang! This episode really had me guessing. I knew there had to be something up with Tom and Eastman from the start, but I really didn't think that Eastman was Melinda's real father. Tom really had me going there and he portrayed a great bad guy at the end. it was great seeing Melinda's mom again. Questions and mysteries always arise whenever she shows up, but it was cool to actually have her provide some answers. And for once she put her ghost seeing abilities to use. Mother/ Daughter team up! The biggest shocker was the ending and I can't wait to see who has no shadow. Can't Wait!! See u all next season!!
  • I didn't saw that coming! This is the season finale? I also didn't knew that.

    Something I wasn't expecting.

Tom was supposed have died with the shot, looks like he is stronger than he looks. I have to admit I'm with Jim, I totally agree with him when he stood up to Melinda's mother. That's a man that loves is wife, that would do anything for her and that will defend her always.

I wasn't expecting that other revelation. Like I saw in some summaries here, this was an episode full of answers, one after the other.

So much was revealed and I'm glad because now she knows the truth.

That's why Gabriel hated her so much, she was his father's favorite but not his daughter, that's what I think.

I didn't knew this was a season finale and I'm sad because of it. But this was one of the best, even the best episode of this season. The most reveling and the most important.
  • The most revealing episode on tv this season! It was answers, answers and more answers, but of course being a season finale, we were all left with one BIG question at the end!

Ok, so this episode not only revealed who Melinda's REAL father is, it not only solved (Most) of the underground mystery and it not only brought Melinda and her mother closer... but it also informed us that one of the cast is DEAD.

Here are my theories... some have guessed it was Jim. True, when Jim told Melinda's mom, Beth, how he felt, she could've seen him, however, the now late-Tom character can't see ghosts and he met Jim in the hospital. Could Tom have killed Jim after telling him about what happened... Not likely, at the end, Jim is seen placing his hands on Ned's shoulders and Ned certainly reacts to it, it seems. My idea is that it is Prof. PAYNE who is the dead one. He noticed it annnd word on websites is that he landed an ABC sitcom for next season, so it would make sense he was leaving, or lessening his role on Ghost Whisperer.

The only problem with that idea is that the shadows were side by side, meaning it would have to be one of the end characters... Melinda's mom, Beth... or Jim/Ned (Im not sure which of them was on the end, probably Jim)... So I guess we shall see.

But I will NOT be happy if it's Jim. I really love their marriage/relationship.

Can't wait for next year already!
  • Melinda finds out a few important things of her past and we have a great cliffhanger

I just loved this episode, and I cant wait to view season 4.I have watched the end over and over again and when I paused(at the moment they stand on the street with the shadows)it looks like Jim is the one without a shadow as he stands behind everybody and Delia does not seem to see him. All the others are standing right on the street and the shadows match with their bodys. Now the questions is when and why died Jim. It must have been recently. Melindas Mom can see ghosts, too,so she could see him and talk to him. (the night he told her what he thinks of her). But how come Melinda then does not realize that it is Jim before? Well, I cannot wait for season 4 to arrive. But I must say if Jim is really the ghost, I do not like it.

I couldn't help but smile, when it was revealed that Tom wasn't Melinda's father. That man is so evil, I just loved Paul's line at the end, he was so full of rage until melinda called him dad, and she needed him, and all his anger disappeared and the only thing he wanted to do was protect his daughter. this season has been so odd, the underground thing, but know we know the why on the underground, it had to do with melinda's past. I was so angry when tom tried to kill melinda, and was so happy when Jim had enough and snapped on both beth and tom about lying and hurting melinda, but that ending six people only five shadows. You know, Melinda isn't dead because Payne wouldn't be able to see her. So who is it, or what is going on that one of their shadows doesn't show.
  • Melinda finds out the secrets of her past, thanks to some digging in Grandview of 1844. Melinda's mom finally reveals who she really is and who her dad really is. Ooh awesome....

This was THE BEST episode EVER. How will we survive the summer trying to guess who is the dead person. I am going to be thinking about this for the rest of school and summer. I officially can't wait for season four. I am DEFINITELY buying season three when it comes out on DVD. This was one of my all time favourite Ghost Whisperer episodes. For everyone who missed it. You TOTALLY missed the most awesome episode of the season. I couldn't believe what I found out in this episode. There was also a super duper cliff-hanger to keep us occupied all summer. All I can say is get ready for season four!
  • This show keeps getting better and better and this episode was the series classic. There were more shockers than any other TV show episode. This episode had so many surprises and it was so awesome to watch. But the best part was the ending...

OMFG!!!!!!! I can not believe this episode. It was one of my favorite TV episodes EVER! There was Melinda's "dad" murdering someone, there was her mom falling in love with the guy he murdered, there was Melinda figuring out who her real father is, there was her mother finally confessing to the entire truth, and then there was the ending. With Delia, Jim, Ned, Melinda, Beth (Melinda's Mom), and Professor Payne. Then Professor Payne looks down at Melinda asks him what's wrong. He says that it is weird, there are six of them, but only five shadows. This can only mean one thing. Professor Payne is a ghost!
  • I was sad, such a great episode, but now I have to wait a long time for another! This was one of my favorites!!

Through out the episode I loved how Jim stuck up for Melinda agaisnt Tom and against her Mother. And Paul Eastman being Mel's real father was a very nice touch, because it was heart warming, about all he needed to hear was the word "dad". That was very nice. The ending was the best of all! I loved how everyone was standing next to each other, and they were looking at there'ye shadow. And what Professor Payne said, "That's weird." Melinda, "what"? Professor Payne, "There are six of us, but there are only five shadows." What a great cliff-hanger! I can't wait for next season! This show just gets better and better!!
