When Melinda and her husband go on a vacation for their anniversary, ghosts aren't too far behind!! And, Melinda is left once again to find out why a ghost is haunting a couple.
A really good episode. Melinda and her husband Jim go on a cruise for their anniversary. The problem a ghost is haunting a couple on the ship, and she's left to figure it out. It takes her from one point to another and finally she's able to solve it through the ship's owner and some other guy, I can't remember his role, but he has written book(s) about the ship they're on. This is the ship's last voyage and was going to be scrapped, but with the truth coming out it's going to be a floating museum. It was a different take on the show. It really did bring in a new fresh of air and a new revitalizing factor to the show, at least for me.
The fourth episode of season four began with Melinda going on a boat trip hoping to be able to relax, only to discover a plethora of ghosts needing her assistance. After shipping most of them off to Eli she attempted to solve the murder of one in particular Lorelei, played by Peyton List (Mad Men). The plot was pretty interesting, but just about every show has done a cruise episode of some kind. Not that it was tepid, but just not the type of installment you expect from Ghost Whisperer. The presence of Jamie Kennedy was also missed here as Eli's been playing off Melinda well and the two are great together.
The climax of the show was also, for a lack of better words, anti-climatic, and not the kind of ending I had expected or hoped for. Another good episode, just not the best so far this season.
I kept thinking the whole time that she was murdered. What a shock to see it was an accident. I also loved how they put everything together for a very good ending. This was a great episode. From the very start it was kind of creepy with the dead girl kissing the guy. Then just as soon as you thought you had it figured out....it changed. This was a very touching episode with plenty of excitement and chills. I couldn't believe the terrible luck that the two young lovers had. What a shame to be so close and then so far away. I thought the guest stars were outstanding also.
After a vision Melinda believes that a member of the crew killed the woman. We learn that she snuck onto the ship and within three days her body was found. They were ordered to get rid of the body and so her body was simply thrown overboard. We soon learn that the victim was in love with the owner of the ship and he went on board to be with him. We learn that she saw him with another woman. She slipped and fell and died. We learn that he went back to Rio for her twice, but had no luck in finding her. We then see her crossing over.
Melinda then also manages to cross over all of the other ghosts on the ship. All except for one, who wants to travel around the world forever. At the end of the episode Melina thinks that she might be pregnant.
This is an episode that I'll always remember as one of my personal favorites. I really love d the idea of a reomantic getaway, as the basics of a storyline, and they really developed it well from that point.
The storyline was not a straightforward one, and the blonde ghost was pretty faunny, and a nice addition. I really enjoyed the case with the ghost. The story took many twists and turns, and until the end, it was basically impossible to figure out how everything was going to end!
Keep it up, Ghost Whisperer, as Season 4 has started with some pretty scintillating episodes! Can't wait for more!
