  • a great episode!!!<br /> tuching script! fantastic casting!<br /> after an average pilot the show rises to its potential!!

    9.6
    "Superb"
Wow!! this is the reson to watch this show!!

the show itself doesnt seems to be very special, regardless of beautifull jeanifer love hewite, and the pilot is medium at best, but this episode was phenomenal!!!

the pilot wasnt as powerfull as it could've been, which is why at first glance ghost whisperer doesnt seems to thouch you at the right places. In this episode the writers fix that first impresion and show as the great potential of this show.

there's nothing like the innocense of a child and the writers played that card to its full impact. the script was chiling especialy kenney's part. when kenny was informed that he was dead and started wondering if he would be rememberd even my eyes where wet. also, the choise of cast was brilient!! Joseph Castanon made kenney's facial expressions and voice unforgetible. David Eigenberg and Paula Cale where also good as the parents. i highly recommend this episode and this show, in hope that the writers would duplicate the quality of this episode along the show.
  • I was sitting home watching a channel specializing in reruns, and this came on. I said, what the heck. Why not watch it? And it got me hooked!

I was sitting home watching reruns of a variety of shows and this episode came on of The Ghost Whisperer. It was the first time I've ever seen the show. And I am now hooked! The acting was great and the story line was unpredictable which is unlikely in shows like this. Researching the episode later on, I was surprised to see was only the second episode of the first season. I am looking forward to continueing the series all based upon this one viewing. I have set my TV to record all episode due to the price of DVDs being high! Great job, The Ghost Whisperer!!!

This episode is one of my favorites. I thought Kenny was very cute. I liked this episode because you get your first look at Jim's mom. I thought Faith was a very good comic relif for a sad episode. The whole friendship between Dylan and Kenny was really cute too. How Dylan's mom said that he was to old for an imaginary friend and he was saying that Kenny was real and not imaginary and then Kenny finding out through Dylan that he was dead. I liked the end when Faith suspected Melinda to be pregnant and whent out and bought them stuff only to find out that Melinda wasent pregnant. Over all I think this episode was very, very cute.

Now I must admit wasn't too impressed with the pilot episode, but this episode "The Crossing" had a much better teaser. This, in my opinion would have been a better choice for the pilot. Joseph Castanon (Kenny), is the cutest little boy and I think he did a wonderful job with playing the deceased. Jim Clancy played by David Conrad is payed a visit by his mother, Faith (Christine Baranski). I think she did a great job with getting the audience to not like her so much at first but we warm up to her at the end. Was it just me or did anyone think that off white dress Jennifer was wearing was a little too much? Who selected the wardrobe? The scene where Kenny's mom decribes Kenny's deaths was really heartfelt. Very sad. claasic moment was when Faith comes back with the baby dress and the worlds best dad mug. She thinks Melinda is pregnant when she really isn't. Overall I think this episode was much better than the first but i'm not ready to run off and buy season two yet.
  • Melinda helps a little boy who died in a railroad crossing...

    "Perfect"
Melinda sees the son of an acquaintance playing with a boy named Kenny near a railroad crossing and she discovers that Kenny is the ghost of a boy who died in that same railroad crossing. With the support of her friend Andrea Moreno and her husband Jim, Melinda contacts Kenny's family, avoids another tragedy and resolves their issues, helping Kenny to cross to the other side. Also Jim's mother, Faith is in town to meet Melinda...

"The Crossing" is another good and sensitive episode of "Ghost Whisperer". The lovely Jennifer Love Hewitt is amazingly perfect for this role, and the story is also beautiful.

People look at death in t.v shows as a thrilling event which they could be sad about or protest against or make a forum post or whatever but this episode took a very different type of death into account.

    A child's death.

In this episode Melinda finds a lost soul of a six year old name Kenny who was lost in a train accident. Now it's Melinda's job to help Kenny say good bye to his family and move on and into the light.

This episode has taken t.v depths up many levels deeper into how much grief can a person gain from television.

What I mean is that it is never easy to watch a child's death or see a family trying to cope with that death.

Very strong writing. Every sentence was very powerful, my favourite was Meinda saying 'do you know what death means'.

I could not hold my tears from the beginning till the closing credits.

The mood was set in an unbelievably great way as Kenny's mom, I am not sure what the actress's name is but she has made a super job portraying the grieving mother.

And the gun incident with Kenny's dad was very exciting.

A very good episode which I recommend everyone to watch.

Even if you do not want to watch other episodes watch this one.

Adding a bit of humor was good for me as Jim's mother and her thinking that Melinda was pregnant was very funny.

It is great how the cast and crew and writers can combine ome humor with tragedy and turn the two elements into a perfect fit.

    A++++++++

    Bravo And R.I.P Kenny

This was an absolutely wonderful episode. I felt so bad for the little boy, Kenny, expecially when he didn't know he was dead. I think I am a sucker for any of the Ghost Whisperer episodes where he ghosts are little kids, they seem to get to me the most. I also enjoyed seeing Jim's mother, although I don't really like her that much. I also loved how Melinda had Jim talk to the ghost, that was hilarious. It was also quite funny when Melinda told Kenny that Andrea was blind! All in all it was a very good episode and I hope they have more like this.
  • Kenny is so cute

Great episode and very sad. Kenny was a cute little kid and I love the fact that Dylan could see him too.

It was great how they explained that Dylan could see Kenny because kids can see the dead and think that is where imaginary friends come from.

Kenny not knowing he was dead and Melinda having to get him to understand that was so sad. It is always very sad when it is kids.

Andrea is still comming to terms with Melinda seeing the dead and I think it really freaks her out still because she doesn't quite understand it yet.
  • Great but sad episode

I thought this episode was really sad.

The little boy that was killed by a train accident was such a sweet kid. I felt really sorry for his parents that he was gone. It was also very sad that the little boy didn't know he was dead and that he was waiting for his mother all that time, believing that she was mad at him.

The part where his father wanted to kill the man who sold the bad car (which caused the accident) broke my heart. That poor little guy tried to talk his daddy out of it, not knowing his father couldn't see him...

I know this show always goes the same, but this episode was really special, and it felt really good Melinda could help Kenny (the boy)!

This still is one of the best episodes!
  • A very sad episode that made me cry.

First I have to say that Joseph Castanon did a perfect job at playing the dead boy.

This was really a sad episode just imaging losing your kid; well I imagined it and I don't have kids yet. At the bigging I found the boy a very funny character; hes waving at the clerk and she's not replying and then when Melinda Gordon lied about Andrea Moreno being blind the boy yet didn't figure it out but when he and that chinese boy figureing him out as an imaginary fan then Kenny realized he was dead and gave a scary scream. Then ran to his dad which couldn't see him talking to him. But then the really sad parts start coming when he leans and kisses his mother then the mother tells Melinda that she felt him.

The ending was the sadist part of the show when the boy is about to walk into the light of heaven but before that it was hard for his mother to say goodbye to him then he says (is his hampster going to be there) and the mother said yes. Then when Melinda Gordon says hes ready to go; I just cried.
  • A young boy doesn't know that he has died and Melinda has to explain it to him, and also help his parents move on.

Alright, the pilot was not that exceptional, so the least they could've done was make the next episode, much better than the first, not worst.

The episode tried to grip you into Kenny's anger, and hurt and lost over his death but really only achieved nothing but a figgle of pain.

But, what was probably the best part of the episode is what usually happens during the death of a child: the mother feels all the pain and cries to feel some comfort, while the dad goes on an anger spree to demolish what and probably whoever is in his path.

Another great touch to the episode was the aspect that childhood invisible friends are really Earth bound spirits, by having Dylan be-friend Kenny.

Overall, though the episode failed to portray the level of drama it aimed for, it was still an okay episode.
  • Wasnt that boy soo Cute!

Well this episode we saw the mother in law in town...An actress i love and find very funny lol

Anyway, there was alot of humour in this episode...With Melinda's best friend....Her acting as a blind woman just cracked me up !! lol !! Anyway i think this episode deserves a 10, because i enjoy it and the more i watch the more i love :D
  • What a great episode! The casting for this one was perfect!

This episode was the best of the season for any of the shows that I have watched. There was not a dry eye in the room, including the guys. The boy who played the character of Kenny was fabulous. We need more heart warming, well written stories like these on TV. Looking forward to all the episodes for this series. Jennifer Love Hewitt is adorable and a delight to watch. The actors who played the roles of the parents to Kenny were really good also. Hope the remaining episodes are this touching. Nothing like a good cry on a Friday night.
  • Wonderful episode that delves into Jim's life (Melinda's husband). A complete tear jerker with a lost ghost and a family in pain.

    9.5
    "Superb"
Now that my reservations of the show is gone, I went into it head long in joy, dying (no pun intended) to see what ghost would come into Melinda's life next. This time, it was a six year old boy, lost because he didn't understand what death meant. The twist to this episode, her mother-in-law came to visit. Like all MIL, she was extremely judgmental and jumped to conclusions easily. It didn't help that she knew nothing of Melinda's talent, and that was something that had to be hidden.

Awww Factor: The wedding photos had a glare that was in fact Dean the dead brother of Jim (the husband). He was at the wedding.

Cute Factor: Imaginary Friends are spirits who have not crossed over because children (innocent that they are) can see spirits.
  • wow... horrible, laughable even

Ok, the little speach by the kid really was over the top to his father, and the blame to the SUV’s previous owner for killing the kid.. that LOL omg, too much, I mean the writers tried there best apparently to make him blamable, and they didn’t even do that very well. How can I put this, but .. yuk, hurl, kiss my shiny metal ass. I usually give a show 3 tries, to keep me watching. The first week was ok, this week was .. well insult worthy, hopefully next week will be at least ok, I like having good entertainment to watch sometimes, I hope it’s good.
  • This episode was excellent. Kenny was a very good character, he showed us that when you lose a child it's difficult for everyone not only for the parents but for the dead person too. He played his role perfectly. Jennifer was excellent like the first epis

This episode was based on a little boy who was killed by a train but he dosen't know that. Melinda discover him beside a train rail and she decide to help him to find his mom. While she was helping Kenny, her mother-in law arrives in town to pass some day with Melinda and Jim. When she finally found the mom of Kenny, the man who sale them a car in very bad shape was judge not guilty of the accident that arrives because of the car. The father of Kenny was very angry about the verdict and decide to kill the man but Kenny told that to Melinda and she stopped him with her husband. Kenny's mother explain that she wasn't angry over him and tell him goodbye. Jim's mother thought that Melinda was pregnant.
  • Another heart-warming story and fine example of why you should watch this show.

The pilot was a lot better than I expected, so I didn't really think it could get better. This second episode proved me wrong though. I usually hate child actors, but Kenny was great. Christine Baransky (playing Hewitt's Mother-in-Law) was a great addition to the cast as well, and Aisha was great as well. And of course Hewitt was amazing.

As I said in my review for the pilot, if you're looking for some heart-warming television, this is the show for you. I'm sure a lot of guys will tune in just for Hewitt, but really this is like an episodic chick flick...but a darn good one.
  • Great. If you believe in ghosts, you will like this show!!! The writing is great and getting the family together for the last time was perfect. I like the idea that each episode will have it's own story line.

While flipping thru the channels and stopped on CBS to give this show a chance.

Having the son killed on the train tracks then having the family feel guilty for his death is so real!!!!

When the father pulled out the gun it really made me think he was going to kill himself.

Also, as the mother felt her dead childs cheek by hers she opened up and believed!!!

    Perfect WRITING!!!

  • Everything in the "Pilot" improves in this Episode.

Everything in the Episode makes me love Ghost Whisperer even more it was filled with such heart felt touching moments that really does give you a look at what could really happen. I love that they were able to bring in a family memember that helped the story move to a end alittle.

The Stars of the Ghost Whisperer did an amazing job and I for one can\'t see anyone else play there parts because they did a really good job. The Guest-Stars for this Episode were also amazing long with Kenny he really did do an amazing job of being the little dead boy.
  • The pilot showed such promise but this week did not grab me the same way. I just didn't feel the emotional connection this time.

    7.3
    "Good"
This episode was not as moving as the pilot. I don't know if it was because as a viewer I expected more or if it wasn't delivered as well.

In summary, this week Melinda met a little boy who had not crossed over because he did not know he was dead. Melinda was introduced to Kenny by the salon owners son. Kenny's parents had understandibly not yet healed from his death.

Here are the positives: It was nice to see more of the ensemble cast and get to know some of their characters. The mother in law was great. Christine Baransky is wonderful and played the part perfectly.

Here is what didn't work for me:I found the salon woman yelling at her child about his imaginary playmate unnecessarily rough.Kenny's mom and dad are grieving parents. It was still a fresh wound. I find it hard to believe that any mother would sit down with a stranger and talk about the death of her son 2 days after losing a civil case. The straight forward "I can talk to your loved one" approach worked in the first one because of the dynamic. There was a man about to become a father wanting to know the father he had never known. He had time to accept the death and it was believable that he would have been more receptive to Melinda's claims.

I still believe that this show has potential. It just needs some fine tuning.
  • Second episode climbs a rung on the ladder.

    7.0
    "Good"
Ghost Whisperer enters it second week of viewing under much scrutiny of its viewers. Many have called it a copycat show. Many call it unoriginal. However I have to say that the second installment of Ghost Whisperer shows a show evolving to its critics. More cast interplay in the second episode gives a bit more of life to the young series. Love Hewitt's performance is markedly better from the pilot as well. If it keeps this up, the show will win over the skeptics.

In the second episode, a young child remains on this side waiting for his mother. Much of the plot is predictable but the cast saves it and works toward the resolution in the show.

One word of advice though to the show writers, you will have to fix up the formula to the show really quickly. A woman can only convince a family that she can see dead people with the same delivers a handful of times.
