  • A second fire at a resturant and the anniversary of Jim and Melinda. Does it get any better than this?

There is a second fire at a resturant and a ghost is haunting it. It was also a flash back episode showing how Jim and Melinda got together. That little excursion into the land of love almost over shadowed the ghost that so needed Mel's help in getting peace so he could cross. The gift Melinda chooses for Jim is priceless. Jim, for the matter is more sneaky. When Mel found the umbrella because her first one was destroyed on their first date, it just melted my heart. A good way end my two days off and start my weekend. I can't live without my Friday night CBS shows! Oh, and Mel does cross the ghost over and that end of it was good too.
  • lovely episode, Melinda in peril, Jim being a hero...

I really liked this episode. Being a total Jimel fan why wouldnt I?

I thought that having Melinda in trouble, seriously affected by a ghost, gave us a lot of character developement for the ghosts and told us a lot about the progression of this season so far as ghosts gaining power etc.

The anniversary of Jim and Melinda was really well covered. I thouhgt that the flashbacks were well linked in to the other action and the picture was sufficiently treated that it seemed to be a nightime memory.

Undeniably, my favourite part of the episode would have to have been at the very close when Jim said: 'dinner at the umbrella room'. I'm not ashamed to admit I was crying with Melinda.

As usual jlh and david conrad did a fab job of being the more perfect that perfect marriage everyone loves and the supporting fire story fitted really well. Jlh reaction when Jim got knocked down also sticks in my mind.

Only negative point, I thought that Warren's partner (dont know his name)was a bit dull and kinda dum, unexpected on a realtively smart show.
  • I loved this episode - not only was the plot good, but the beautiful anniversary sequence between Mel and Jim was amazing. Almost perfect.

I have to say, when I sat down to watch this episode a few weeks ago, I remember thinking, "Ok, so it's to do with a restaurant fire. This is probably gonna be one of those great-but-predictable episodes." Oh how wrong I was! The great twist as far as the fire was concerned - and the arson - I think was very well thought out and planned. I didn't see it coming! The story line may not have developed the bigger plot much, but it certainly made for good T.V. Now, the real reason why I think this is almost-perfect, is because of the wonderful anniversary sub plot. I didn't see it coming, and honestly, when I saw what Jim had given her, I was so close to tears it's unbelievable. Absoloutly wonderful episode.
  • Really good episode

I loved this episdode. I though it was such a good idea for them to finally show us more about melinda and jim's relationship. I would personally love to know where their second date was and where Jim proposed. I love how he tricked her into thinking that he had forgotten their aniversery but really he knew all along. All in all i think that this was a really great episode and anyone who hasn't seen it really should. I also did like the storyline with the ghost who was on fire. I though that the first time you saw it it was pretty cool.
  • I found my eyes watering as this episode ended.

I love watching Melinda Gordon's experiences as she helps out strangers reconnect with their deceased loved ones. This episode also touched on Melinda and Jim's past, how they met eachother. The two leads gave beautiful performances as usual, but I also loved the random ghosts that Melinda helped out. The ghost in the funeral home was just hilarious, and there were so many surprises when we realised which ones were ghosts. The story with Warren's death was certainly intriguing, and I was happy when the world didn't work out for every single character. But I was in tears when Warren finally revealed his love for his wife... so beautiful. And then more tears flooded when Jim gave Melinda her anniversary gift. Jennifer Love Hewitt continues to touch our hearts with her beautiful acting and beautiful teary eyes.

wow..this episode was really one of the best of this season. Mel and Jim are so cute together and Jim tricked Mel by saying he was going to play poker with his friends. Actually he was planning the surprise for their anniversary. When Mel found this red umbrella ( her umbrella was destroyed by the wind on their first "date")in the dresser..aww...this moment was just so cute. I really liked the story of this ghost too. Really well writen and explained. He was quite powerful, this ghost and of course, like always, noone believed Mel but then they did and everyone was happy.
  • This was a great episode to finally get to know more about Melinda and Jim's relationship!!

This was one of my favorite episodes!! It told you more about Melinda and Jim's realationship and finally know how they met. The flashbacks were really good. At the end were Melinda finds the umbrella was extremely good and sad and happy all at the same time. I thought that the people she helped was good to and I was suprised when I found out his wife and friend / co-worker started dating shortly after he died. I hope we continue to find out more about Melinda and Jim's relationship. Like I would like to know when they went on there second date and when he proposed to her!!
  • Most people have wondered how Melinda and Jim actually met and this episode answers that question for us - and we also see why GW fans LOVE, LOVE, LOooVE their relationship. It gives me hope that love exists, even if its on the tv!

If you wanna know, watch it...dont wanna spoilt it for anyone coz its a very special episode for me. I can say that we see more depth to Delia's character and The Bloody Ghost makes his mysterious presence 'known' if only very briefly (who the hell is this guy!!!). But most improtantly we get to see Jim deceive Melinda (in the most romantic way ever) which made my heart go out to the writers who did a wonderful job in showing us how the two most loved up couple on Tv met (even surpassing Kirsten and Sandy Cohen - and thats saying something!!)
  • At the same time she is looking forward to her anniversary she is haunted by a hot headed, angry ghost.

This was a very good episode. There were two story lines to it.

One was that Melinda the Ghost Whisperer was desperately looking forward to celebrating the 5th anniversary of the night she met her husband.

The other was that she wanted to help a very angry, troubled spirit of a person who was killed in a fire.

Either one of these would have been enough of a story for an episode to get by. The fact that the writers packed both of these into one episode made it a really fulfilling one.

The theme in this episode seemed to be that men in love really do care for and remember the women they love, if if it appears to the women that they have forgotten them and have other things on their mind.
  • Wow! That was a great episode! I'm not one of those folks that usually likes the mushy stuff either. Romance is alive and kicking!

This show really does sentimentality so well! It's probably why I keep coming back to watch it week after week. The red umbrella and the 'hot dog stand'. They each remembered the significance of their first 'dinner date'. I think it was especially significant that the ghost of the week story was also about people that really loved each other. He wanted to make things good for both of them, she only wanted to be with him. His business partner on the other hand. Oh man what a jerk! Ugh! No wonder he was so beside himself with grief, he killed his partner and let him take the blame for it!! Oh the scene in the funeral home was great! "...Tell him that the family really liked how he made her look."

Of course Melinda rephrases the compliment:

    "People like your work"

Oh that was a great line. Even if it was a throw away line.

I loved this episode, loved to see how they got together, there first *date*.. The flashback sequence was great, I really enjoyed the story behind it all.

Ghost whisperer never fails to make me tearful by the end, sometimes reaching for a tissue or hiding my face in embarressment.. "Theres something in my eye.. both of them" is usually my excuse! There has been a few episodes where I've had to leave the room before the end because I just know I'll burst into tears... But whats to be ashamed of eh, its fantastic.

To sum up, I adored this episode as I do all of them, great story, and definitly a tearjerker! I just hope, one day, I'll have that kind of relationship that Melinda and Jim have, its amazing.. the best :)
  • Melinda and Jim really know what love is...

I really liked this episode especially finding out how Melinda and Jim met. I had a feeling the lady Melinda was talking to on that night was a ghost. I like the fading in and out (on objects)camera techniques they used during the flashbacks.

I wonder what the all the blood we keep seeing is all about. The five signs of death stuff are kind of spooky. I think eventually we are going to see Melinda new friend's (Camryn Manheim) husband. Maybe he has something to do with the blood?

This show is really cool because it has all emotions, it makes you curious, it gets spooky, and then it makes you cry at the end.
  • I always wondered how Melinda and Jim met.

I so wondered when and how Jim met Melinda. I wondered if it was due to her gift or some other kind of circumstance where it would be considered normal how they met. I loved their first date too. It was cute how they bought each other those presents of their anniversery of their first date 5 years ago that night. I really thought for half a second that Jim had forgotten that night. That man has alot of heart and despite him burning everything that fire ghost did too. He didn't want his wife dating the man who killed him both emotionally and physically even though it was by accident. I wonder what will happen to him and what does all that blood dripping down mean? Something really bad I think. Seeing blood can't be a good sign.
