Ghost Whisperer

Well, I love Ghost Whisperers but I do think that this episode didn't have much to it. I loved the Delia and Ned story. I always enjoy it when Ned's character appears. He's just a well-rounded kid that any parent would want or any girl would want to date (including myself). The only thing is that I still find the part of Jim/Sam is becoming too draggy. Everyone knows Jim is there and haven't there been enough curveballs in him finding out who he really is? I actually thought that this was going to be the final one and it was going so well until his ex-fiancee had to appear. I just want the Jim everyone knows and love, not the confused Sam/Jim. Besides the continuation of this minor annoyance I enjoyed how Melinda helped the ghost she encounters along the road trip. Melinda's got heart and I like that about her character. Oh, and Eli was great in solving his own ghost encounter. I never got to say how much I enjoy Jamie Kennedy playing that role. He does it exceptionally well. My hope is to see plenty more of him and a little less of Sam.

Well this was a really good episode because we saw more character development of Delia, Ned and Eli. I just love the new Delia. I mean Delia The BELIEVER. She finally learned how to deal with all the "ghost problems". I can't even imagine how stupid this episode would look if she was still a sceptic. Then Eli did the first real crossing over all by himself. I think that he might take even a bigger role in the future.

And when talking about Melinda and Jim/Sam - I hoped that something bigger would happen in this episode. Well the ending was great but of course Nicole had to show up and ruin everything. Well I believe that the war for Jim/Sam begins.

There were two main story lines - one with Delia and her son and one with Mel and Sam(/Jim), and both led to significant changes in the relationships. Delia learned a lot about who her son really is and her need to have more faith in him. Mel and Sam seemed to be connecting and on the verge of recovering part of their lost romance... but Sam's attempts to reconnect with Nicole are a serious roadblock. This plot makes me think about about the question of how much personal identity is rooted in the body - versus in the souls. Now, what will happen next? How is this Nicole and what will she do? Will Sam and Mel ever be a couple like Mel and Jim were??

This episode definitely had you feeling for Melinda. She's truly become desperate in her attempt to reconnect with Jim, hoping that a spontaneous road trip would reignite his memory of her. Her sweet efforts brought forth some recollection, but unfortunately it also brought Sam's love interest back into the picture.



We also saw Camryn Manheim's terrific acting on display here as she was forced to discipline her son and then "unpunish" him when it turned out he was the mature child she raised. I also liked how we saw Eli help a ghost crossover showing that he may take on a bigger role in the future.



I definitely liked how these two supporting actors got ample screen time, but some of the scenes were a little ridiculous such as the fight, and the endless parade of ghosts begging for Melinda's help. While at times the episode drifted off course, this was still a fairly entertaining hour.

Though the story line was more focused on was with Delia and Ed along with Elim the moments that were between Sam and Mel were amazingly done. Tehy had just enough emotion to make it believable and to make you feel what they felt, along with the way it was written helped tie those moments together into powerful scenes.



Though the story with Delia and the ghost seemed a little flat at some places the actors/actresses picked up the slack and made you empathetic to what was being said and the message behind their words and situations. The Fiance thing with Sam helps adds suspense to the show and my heart litterally began beating harder in my chest when he was going back and forth between seeming he was on the edge of discovering everything and then going back to Nicole. Also the last scene where Sam is asking Mel out and then Nicole pops up, was heartbreaking. Maybe because I'm biased and want Sam an mel together or perhaps its just the acting of the actors but that scene had me identifying with Mel to the point that I was in tears, and yet at the same time feel hopeful for Sam. So all in all this Episode to me was an amazing one. It was well worth the wait.
