  • I love the silliness Gilligan's Island

This is a good episode, This show shows how you can make up the most ridiculous stories and make them funny. Very funny. I mean when the professor hypnotizes the skipper and then he thinks everyone is Japanese solders and then captures them. He puts them in a cage that is very easy to escape from. Why don't they get away? Well, that's what makes it funny. Gilligan is the only one who slips through the bars, why can't Mary Ann slip through them. Also, the gun that the skipper has has no ammo. This is a classic episode that should be watched over and over.moreless

    • Thurston: Don't worry Skipper. It's an off season for rescues.

    • Skipper: Six Japanese soldiers in 15 minutes! I may take the whole Japanese army single-handed!

    • Mary Ann: [Skipper] thinks we're men.
Ginger: How could anybody get that idea about me? Besides having amnesia he's got eye trouble.

    • Thurston: I grew up on a yacht. I know something about signals.
Lovey: Yes, Thurston can signal for the cocktail hour. A third round of martinis.
Professor: Yes, but can he signal for help?
Thurston: Good heavens, after the third round what do you think I'm signaling for?

    • Thurston: Lovey, I mad a terrible boo-boo. Gilligan's sleeping in the wrong hammock.
Lovey: Oh Thurston, you have to talk to that boy. He never does anything right.

    • Lovey: There are times when financial promises don't mean a thing.
Thurston: May J.P. Morgan have mercy upon your soul.

    • Mary Ann: Hi Gilligan. Hi Skipper.
      Skipper: Howdy, ma'am.
      Mary Ann: "Howdy, ma'am?" That's a silly thing to say. I'm not a ma'am.

    • Gilligan: You can rest here awhile I used to share this hut with a buddy.
      Skipper: What happened to him?
Gilligan: You wouldn't believe me if I told you.
      Skipper: Sure I would.
      Gilligan: He forgot himself.
      Skipper: I don't believe it.
      Gilligan: See, I told you.

    • Gilligan: (about the Skipper) Will he ever remember to stop forgetting?

    • Professor: I think the Skipper's got amnesia.
      Gilligan: Am-what-ia?

    • Gilligan: (to the Skipper) If you don't know where you are, I'm not gonna second guess you. I better get the Professor. He's very good at who's who.

    • Gilligan throws water on the Skipper.
Skipper: What happened? I'm soaking wet.
Gilligan: It was a flash storm. It's all over now.

    • The February 19, 1965 episode of The Addams Family, "Amnesia in the Addams Family" (airing two months before this episode of Gilligan's Island) has virtually the same bashing on the head routine, except the Addams family members use juggling pins.
