The cannon balls they show in this were commonly used for side-mounted cannons on galleons and weighed on average of 10-20 pounds each. Given that we saw about 50 when the chest was opened, there should've been no possible way for the Skipper to lift it straight out of the hole over his head, let alone push it around with his hand as was shown.
Skipper: Ginger's very damaging to us. Gilligan: Yeah, her testimony. Skipper: No, her legs.
Gilligan: Skipper, says I shouldn't talk to anyone until I talk to my attorney. Professor: Well who's your attorney? Gilligan: Skipper. Thurston: Professor, I'll pay you $1,000 to represent me. Gilligan: But he's gonna be the judge. Thurston: In that case, I'll double my offer.
Lovey: Thurston, in all the years we've been married, I never saw you pace the floor before. Thurston: Well of course not. At home, I had my butler do it for me. These islands can be so inconvenient.
Skipper: Are you asleep? Gilligan: If I am, I am doing it with my eyes wide open.
Skipper: Gilligan, that's the fifth shovel you've broken this week. Gilligan: I'm sorry, Skipper. But I hit something real hard. Skipper: The only thing hard on this island is your head.
Thurston: Your honor, I want to file charges against Mary Ann. Professor: Against Mary Ann, for what? Thurston: For murder. Professor: Murder? Thurston: Her testimony is killing me.
Theme of episode: Not all treasure chests contain treasure.
I thought it odd the Professor seemed to be gone the entire first half of the episode. The reason given was he was on the other side of the island.
